Jeninfer Reed Lecture: Breaking Silence: The Da Vinci Code, Hidden History, and the Initiatory Path
By Jennifer J. Reed

$5.00 - 20.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome, no one turned away

Presentation Description:

There are few things known for certain in this world, and one of them is that history is a matter of perception.

Is history a matter of agreed upon lies? Is history the property of the victors complete with ownership rights into perpetuity? Explore how history's little known facts-those anomalies of archaeology and long ignored texts-might well be keys to a new worldview. The Da Vinci Code is only the beginning-an example of how fiction brings forth the world of conventional and independent scholarship to the public eye.

Mary Magdalene: Was she a wife, a whore, a priestess-princess destined for a royal marriage in the most ancient of priest-king traditions? What secret did the priest of a small French village carry to his grave? Why was his confessor murdered? Is Abbe Berenger Sauncier's secret encoded in a sacred science that criss-crosses the south of France? Who does the "Priory of Sion" serve? Vedi, vidi, da Vinci: Symbols in the art and the eye of the beholder. Why end at Rosslyn when the reality of France is so much more compelling? And finally, why should we care about any of this?

Presenter's Biography:

Jennifer J. Reed holds an A.B. in Speech Communication from the University of Southern California and also studied ceramics, drawing, and design at the Art Institute of Southern California in Laguna Beach, California. She spent eighteen years as a ceramic artist, specializing in carved one-of-a-kind porcelain vessels and dinnerware.

She has a special interest in the esoteric and in secret societies (Freemasonry, in particular) and is currently writing a novel. "For Sion's Sake I Will Not Be Silent," her interview with author Margaret Starbird (The Woman with the Alabaster Jar, The Goddess in the Gospels, and Magdalene's Lost Legacy, and Mary Magdalene, Bride in Exile), currently appears on the Phenomena web site http://phenomena.cinescape.com/0/editorial.asp?aff_id=0&this_cat=Alternate+History&action=page&obj_id=4627#
