![]() Free admission, donations welcome Note: This video will be shown 8/25, 9/01 & 9/08 at 7pm Description: 60-minute Video followed by 60-minute discussion and Q&A with local Vipassana representatives. Vipassana is an ancient meditation technique, a simple and practical way to achieve real peace of mind and lead a happy, useful life. This non-sectarian technique is a process of mental purification through systemic self-observation. It is taught in over fifty permanent centers around the world, with over 70,000 peopole participating in 2003. The Northwest Vipassana Center, a permanent center in rural southwest Washington, conducts courses for new and old adult students, as well as special short courses for children. Vipassana practice leads to: mental balance, heightened concentration and reduced stress. A residential retreat will be held September 14-25th at Camp Latgawa in the Rogue River National Forest,east of Medfor in southwest Oregon. Vegetarian meals, heated cabins and showers are available. Early registration is advised. According to the tradition of pure Vipassana, all meditation courses are run solely on a donation basis. Donations are accepted from people who have completed at least one ten-day course with Mr. Goenka or one of this assistant teachers. Ten-day courses in prisons are now occurring in India, the United States and other countries.
