My idea for this collage was to convey some sort of feeling of past, present future. I chose to do this because I feel that one’s life purpose is not chosen automatically, instead our purpose is a product of our life, and how we have experienced it. I use the repeated symbol of butterflies throughout my piece because they symbolize transformation. Through each part of my life I have transformed and will continue to eternally. In the middle of my piece there is a figure reaching up towards the future, the moon behind her suggests an infinite cycle of change. Below a ship sailing on unknown waters, with the reflection of itself rippling in the water. At the top is my future. The reclining figure rests next to an elderly woman, they sit beneath the two reflecting moons in contemplation of the life they have lived.
