Video Description: For nearly thirty years the people of Damanhur have worked together building a community based on a belief in the artistry of life. They have created a complex democratic social structure with a sharing of power and responsiblility that is based on the goals of service and personal growth. Finally a community that works! The Temple of Humankind is a great underground work of art created by the citizens of Damanhur as a spiritual and artistic pathway. This is one of the most symbolically meaningful integrated works of art on the planet and acts as a dynamic record of humanity's evolution. There are also 300 tons of advanced "selfic" coils and circuits in the walls of the temple making it the planets largest healing instrument. Ritual, music, alchemy and research on time that has led to a functioning time machine and work with "time seeds" are other fascinating functions of the temple. Situated in the Alpine foothills of Italy, Damanhur is made up of 44 households called Nucleos that seek to demonstrate a high flame of spiritual attainment. Damanhur is a part of the Global Eco-village Network and is host to visitors from around the world who are interested in consciousness and community living. Damanhur seeks to become a model of sustainable living and is moving towards self-sufficiency. They have 50 cottage industries ranging from weaving for the top fashion designers on ancient looms to an internet service provider. CyberDamanhur. They are involved in organic agriculture,cheese and wine making, and extensive use of alternative energy systems. They use their own complementary currency, the credit. Most important the people of Damanhur are very real, very down to earth and very committed. Through meaning and purpose, realized in daily living, joy and fulfillmenat are naturally found.
