Stephen has just wrapped INDIGO, filmed here in Southern Oregon and will show film clips during the evening. Stephen is the author of The Force is With You: Mystical Movie Messages That Inspire Our Lives. In the book he presents his conviction that Spiritual Cinema is a distinct genre. Here is your chance to meet the Hollywood film producer who is also our neighbor, a man who has become the leading spokesperson for Spiritual Cinema in the mainstream film industry. During this inspirational, informative, and fun evening, Stephen will passionately explain his controversial assertion that there is a genre called Spiritual Cinema (which he distinguishes from Religious Cinema) that has yet to be recognized by mainstream Hollywood. He will also comment on the state of the movie business- past, present and future and show film clips from several of the films in that genre. Stephen is a sought-after speaker on topics related to visionary cinema. With a focus on spirituality and film, Stephen teaches seminars across the United States and writes a nationally distributed monthly movie column called The Movie Mystic. He hosts regular telecourses (the next one begins Sept 18) and has inspired the formation of Spiritual Cinema groups around the world, including one in Ashland. Membership information and local activities will be discussed.
