Excerpts from two more of Ruth Wire’s novels, “Love Among the Grownups,” a love story of the sixties, and “Universe of Two,” what happens to that love in the seventies and eighties, will be read by actress, Pam Ward, well known for her audiobook work.
All four of Ruth’s novels will be available for sale, and the author will sign them.
Previous novels by Ruth Wire: The Nightbirds Still Sing, and Saddle Shoes and Starlight. She’s working on novel #5 that comes just after Saddle Shoes and Starlight in this series of books that have the same protagonist, Phoebe.
Ruth Wire has lived in the Rogue Valley since 1975, mentors a writers’ workshop, HayWire, helped to create two theatres, New Playwrights’ Theatre and Studio X in the ‘80s, and taught Poetry in the Schools as a visiting artist. Many of her full-lenght and short plays have been produced by New Playwrights’ Theatre, Studio X, and Ashland Contemporary Theatre.
She is President of the Board of Ashland Contemporary Theatre. She’s an award-winning playwright, award-winning screenwriter, short story writer, and award-winning poet. Along with composer, Charles Armstrong III, she wrote the book and the lyrics to a suffragette musical, A Modern Woman produced in Ashland twice, (2004 and 2006) to wonderful reviews. Coming up is the production of Ruth’s play, Spit in the Beer, in a venue just off Times Square in Manhattan under the auspicies of AB Film (Alan Baxter) in summer of 2025. She’s a ninety-three-year old still full of life, and the caregiver of her seventy-year-old disabled daughter.
