Presentation Description:

Video: Spirits in Transition: End-of- Life Care for Animals By Holistic Veterinarian Ella Bittel, shown by Amaroq Weiss

While it can be of great benefit to have euthanasia available, our fears of death and the possibility of letting our animal suffer, combined with the profound lack of information on animal hospice, have frequently lead animal owners to feel that they don't have any other choice when the end of their animal's life comes closer.

Through the death of her dog Momo in 2001, Ella realized that none of her extensive veterinary training had included how to care for an animal that goes through a natural dying process. Indeed, this important topic simply is often dismissed in our society.

Yet there is an inherent value to the natural dying process, as it gives the animal time to prepare for the transition it is about to make. Understanding the needs of the dying gives us more confidence to allow this process to unfold in its own time.

In this recording of Ella giving a one-hour Powerpoint presentation on animal hospice, the common reasons for euthanasia are re-evaluated, and the western definition of when the dying process is concluded is challenged by scientific research on the body's subtle energy systems which coincide with knowledge passed along in ancient teachings.

Ella Bittel has specialized in holistic treatment options for animals for over 20 years.

She is certified with IVAS (International Veterinary Acupuncture Association), with AVCA (Animal Veterinary Chiropractic Association), with Linda Tellington-Jones as a TTOUCH practitioner, and with Donna Eden, adapting her Energy Medicine techniques to support animals through their aura and chakras.

Born in Germany, Ella now lives and works as a Holistic Veterinarian in California. Perceiving dying and supporting the dying as a sacred, precious art, she created a weekend seminar on end-of-life care for animals, "Spirits in Transition".

The film highlights some of the topics covered in this seminar and will be shown by Amaroq Weiss, who - being a certified TTOUCH practitioner herself- met Ella last year at the 30-year celebration of TTouch and TTeam practitioners. Deeply inspired and moved by Ella's presentation at this international gathering, Amaroq leapt at the chance to bring the full- length 15 hour event to Ashland. Designed for people interested in learning more about hospice for animals, the weekend seminar "Spirits in Transition" is offered at Jackson WellSprings July 20-22.

Solari Circle

Free Admission, donations appreciated

The Solari Opportunity is about shifting wealth and power back into balance with the interests of families and communities in a manner that promotes excellence and the creation of new wealth. We do this by taking responsibility for our economy, by forming Solari Circles and -- where there is significant local business and citizen support -- new ways of circulating resources in our neighborhoods and networks, as we engage our attention and our transactions in a more financially intimate manner.

If we want clean water, fresh food, a sound financial system and healthy communities, we are going to have to finance and govern these resources ourselves. That means withdrawing our support from the institutions that are draining us.

Solari Circles are self-organizing groups of people and trusted friends with a particular focus on investing their time and money in building wealth in transformative ways. Wealth is viewed as a blend of financial and living equity, including the health and well being of our families, our communities and our planet. Financial investment emphasizes financial intimacy and "back to basics" investments.

By collectively shifting our focus of spending, banking and investing toward sustainable and decentralized businesses, we can transform our finances and the world. Our immediate goal is to create living and equity wealth that is sustainable for our families and loved ones in a way that contributes to healthy, sustainable communities worldwide.

For example, why let credit card companies finance our neighbors' debt at 18% when we are only earning 2% on our bank CDs? Why not get together and pool our capital and keep those interest profits in our community, while helping our neighbors work down their debt?

Other local investment opportunities include neighborhood business and venture investments, consumer and business aggregation, government resource reengineering and other similar activities. Network opportunities include what people we know and trust are doing or are investing in, including within their communities.

Solari Circles organize informally and can begin by "Coming Clean" together, and gaining mastery of how the money works around us. Investment pools started by a Solari Investor Circle are organized as legal entities.
