This 2-hour Presentation invites us to explore the "Living Deeply" insights and experiences which the authors have gathered, sharing IONS decade-long research into the power and potential of human consciousness. Highlighting wisdom from leading-edge thinkers (including Robert Thurman, Angeles Arrien, Sylvia Boorstein, Ram Dass, Stanislav Groff, Gerald Jampolsky, Jon Kabat-Zinn, George Leonard, Rachel Naomi Remen, Huston Smith and Starkhawk), this thought-provoking presentation will be followed by an audience interactive q&a dialogue and booksigning.

This full-day Workshop, which includes a "Living Deeply" workbook, invites us to Join IONS researchers Marilyn Schlitz and Cassandra Vieten in an intimate focused setting where they will share key insights and practices from their qualitative and quantitative investigation into how people actually transform their lives.
This Workshop blends the rigors of science with the deep wisdom of the world's spiritual traditions. Participants will learn through the disciplines and pathways of rigorous scientific inquiry, group dialogue and direct experience, exploring a variety of transformative practices that dramatically and effectively change a person's consciousness and worldview to one that is more centered, loving, kind, compassionate, and connected to others. (Continuing Education Unit credits available for this workshop.)
We invite community members to bring a healthy sense of adventure, an open mind, curiosity, and the intention to facilitate a deeper more meaningful life for yourself and others.
PRESENTERS' BIOGRAPHIES:
Marilyn Schlitz, Ph.D, is a cultural anthropologist, a clinical research scientist, writer, speaker, thought leader, and change consultant. Her work over the past three decades explores the interface of consciousness, science, and healing. She is Vice President for Research and Education at the Institute of Noetic Sciences (IONS) and Senior Scientist at the Research Institute, California Pacific Medical Center. She has published hundreds of articles on consciousness studies, lectured widely on a number of topics, including talks at the United Nations, the Smithsonian Institution, and the Explorers Club; has taught at Trinity, Stanford, and Harvard Medical Centers; and is the co-editor of "Consciousness and Healing: Integral Approaches to Mind Body Medicine".
Marilyn Schlitz is one of the most creative and innovative minds today in the exploration of science and consciousness. Her research provides an extraordinary opening to the understanding of who and what we are, and of what we yet may be. - Jean Houston, Ph.D.

Cassandra Vieten, Ph.D, is a licensed clinical psychologist, Codirector of the Mind-Body Research Group at California Pacific Medical Center, senior research scientist at IONS, and Vice President of the Institute for Spirituality and Psychology. Her research work, funded by the National Institutes of Health, the State of California, and several private foundations, has focused on how emotion regulation is involved in addictions, on mindfulness-based approaches to cultivating health and well-being, and on experiences and practices that lead to psychospiritual transformation. She has published several academic articles and chapters as well as conducting numerous presentations at international scientific conferences.
