THIS WEEK: Language of the ReGeneration
With A. Keala Young

A playshop exploring the evolutionary capacity of language in the Now Age.

Language is code, code can be a rule of conduct, a veiled communication or a method for programming . . . what's the difference? is it the same thing?

With a brief drop on the state of the Art, Keala will lead us through some of the mythstory of language interspersed with integrateful small group and journal sessions playing with the currency and capacity of our linguistic programs and patterning in the context of our emergent generation. Play done in smaller groups will be re:woven into an offering to the co:here:in:it whole with a focus on functional applications.

A few things we will explore:
· the power of attention
· tuning into how we're being heard as much as what we're saying
· the context of linguistic evolution and memes
· telepathic aspects of communication- how do we understand each other?
· applications for evolving the language beyond duality with "no mind left behind"
· increasing our capacity to open to our evolutionary intelligence as a group
· identifying functional applications for ReGenerative Language, Now!

Please bring a journal and something to write with
, a smile and your naturally opening mind!

February Art Show: "Art from Outside the Box"
An exhibition of 15+ pieces by artists with developmental disabilities, including paintings by Mieke Ryneal, Karl Elwood, and Alex Iverson.

Opens First Friday, Feb. 6, 5:00-8:00pm

Exhibit Runs Feb. 7th-26th, 10:00am-6:00pm

The exhibition features over 15 pieces of artwork by artists with developmental disabilities, including paintings by Mieke Ryneal, Karl Elwood, and Alex Iverson. The artists are members of Studio Sfumato in Medford, a social enterprise of Living Opportunities, which is an art studio for professional artists with a wide range of disabilities.

"Discover how wonderful art can be when it is unaffected by centuries of schooled thought. They prove again and again that art is not about refining techniques, but about the magic of expression. Come and enjoy the raw power that flows!" says Studio Sfumato Director, Dan Mish.

"Self Portrait" Acrylic on Canvas by Mieke Ryneal: Mieke Ryneal, one of the exhibition's featured artists, states "I've been an artist ever since I could pick up a pencil, but my first experience with painting was here at the studio." Mieke, who was once picked on and teased as a child, is now a popular artist in Medford. Her colorful abstracts are sold at every Studio Sfumato art show. "The studio is like a second home to me. It's the one place that I can really express myself. Studio Sfumato is my passion in life."

"Three of Us" Acrylic on Canvas by Alex Iverson: Since joining the studio, Alex Iverson has enjoyed a successful painting career. Recently, one of his popular impressionistic paintings won a national fine art competition. Alex's winning entry was displayed in the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC, followed by a nation wide tour. "I like to paint so that I can make money to buy things." Alex, also a musician, plays accordion, guitar, mandolin, and the ukulele.

"Lorna" Acrylic on Canvas by Karl Elwood: Although Karl Elwood has always enjoyed drawing, his first experience with painting has been at the studio. Karl is the studio's most prolific artist; sometimes completing one canvas per day. "I want people to appreciate the beauty of the human form." Karl's process usually begins with a drawing on canvas using an idea from his sketchbook. "I enjoy the recognition that being an artist gives me."

Since 1974, Living Opportunities, Inc., the sponsor of Studio Sfumato, has been creating new life experiences for individuals with developmental disabilities-to live in the same neighborhoods, work for the same employers and have the same opportunities that all people enjoy and aspire to in the community. Presented by RVML, D.U.D.E., & Studio Sfumato.

-Primary causes of hormonal imbalances and endocrine dysfunction

-How endocrine imbalances affect other aspects of health

Presenter's Biography:

As a certified nutritional consultant, I have helped many thousands of people to improve their health. I am also a certified Metabolic Typing Advisor and have specialized training in reading and interpreting hair mineral analysis reports.

I graduated from Loyola University School of Law and was licensed to practice law in the state of Illinois in 1986. I practiced law on and off from 1987 to 1993.

My interest in natural healing began as a result of my six-year battle with chronic illness. During this time, from 1984 to 1990, I saw dozens of health care practitioners, both conventional and unconventional. I was diagnosed with a variety of illnesses including food allergies, chronic candida, chronic fatigue syndrome and toxic metal poisoning.

By 1989 I had made little progress and had almost given up hope. It was during this time that a life-changing shift in my understanding of healing occurred: a combination of natural therapies that addressed underlying toxicities, deficiencies and emotional challenges is what helped me break through years of struggle, and I was finally able to regain my health.

After regaining my health I felt compelled to share this message of healing with clients from my legal practice, friends, family, even complete strangers. From this point on my life took a new path into the field of natural healing.

In 1996, I began my professional career as a nutritional therapist. Most recently, I was on staff at The Optimal Wellness Center, the largest holistic medical clinic in the Chicago area from June 2000 through January of 2004.

For two years I had a private practice in Oak Park, Illinois offering a variety of health and wellness seminars and trainings to health care practitioners. Beginning in 2007 I opened a private nutrition consulting practice in Ashland, Oregon.

My ongoing education includes a doctoral program in natural healing. I am also completing my naturopathic degree from the Clayton College of Natural Heath.
I have also been a featured nutrition and alternative health care expert on Channel 7 news in Chicago (the local affiliate of ABC) covering areas ranging from public health and safety to tips for healthy eating while traveling.

Lecture: Shamanic Soul Retrieval
By Annie Fuller

$5.00-15.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome

Presentation Description:

The Human Soul is complex. It serves as both a container for who we are as Spirit, as well as a protector for who we are as Human. When we experience trauma in our lives, our souls respond; parts detach and disassociate. In the moment this allows us to emotionally survive the situation, yet in the long run, we become "soul lost."

Depression, a feeling of emptiness, being accident prone, addictions, spaciness, chronic illness, observing our lives instead of living them, post traumatic stress, anxiety, feeling like - "I've never been the same since..." are all common symptoms of soul loss.

Shamanic Soul Retrieval is a powerful, ancient ceremony and healing modality where core, lost soul parts are found, offered healing and brought home to the soul, where they belong. This restoration of vital spiritual essence allows us the opportunity to live in present time as well as experience our lives with heightened awareness and joy.

At this two hour informative talk, Annie will share information about shamanism, the Human soul, soul retrieval, and ways we can integrate newly recovered soul parts.

Presenter's Biography:

Annie Fuller is a Spiritual Healer and Teacher who recently returned to Ashland after almost two years of working and traveling both nationally and internationally. She walks a path of Faith and Trust, aware that miracles are possible in every moment. Annie has been creating healing ceremonies for individuals, couples, families, and communities for over 25 years. She assists people of all ages suffering from physical, emotional, and/or spiritual disharmony. Annie serves as intercessor for a week long "Healing Quest" ceremony held in Ashland every August, as well as co-leads our "Community Shamanic Healing Circles." She is recognized as a 4th level "paqo" in the Andean mystical tradition and shares her unique medicine and perspective in private healing sessions, classes, workshops, ceremonies, and community outreach.

This Week: "Your Life as The Heroes Journey- Shedding the stories that stalk us by authoring our own epic tale of becoming with Toby Quin

Description:

You are invited to author your own epic tale: Who am I? What do I want? Do I belong? Do I have value? Am I loved? Why am I here? How do we live in harmony together? What does living in right relation to myself and all my relations really mean? These are some of the most fundamental questions we face as human beings, and yet how often have any of us been sincerely asked any of these questions and been afforded the lovingly held, non-judgmental space to deeply and authentically explore and discover those truths only revealed to us from within.

Without this solid ground of an internally referenced identity we are seduced by fear and desperation or by promises of joy, fulfillment and enlightenment, and source our purpose and sense of possibility from without. The answer to "who am I?" becomes nothing more than the stories we've written consciously, and very often unconsciously, in order to describe and explain what we've experienced.

We become increasingly dependent on other's validating and accepting the many roles and characters we play in these stories in order to give our lives meaning. Scripted by limiting and often sabotaging beliefs born of trauma, these stories subtly and insidiously call for a re-enactment of the same themes and patterns again and again and again, as we doom ourselves to the suffering written into the drama.

Enough!!! Let's consciously create our lives and the world we most prefer to live in, empowered by the awareness of choice that is kept fecund and vital by our ability to consciously author our own story of meaning, purpose and becoming. Let's move from Victim to Hero.

During this evening of the ReGen Dialogues we will explore: An ancient perspective of who we are kept alive for centuries in the high Andes of Peru, untouched by the patriarchal influences of the European Conquest. The Nature of the Story and how we construct our reality. How do our stories stalk us? Imprinting and Resonant Wounding. Why we cling to our stories. Why it serves us and the planet to let the stories go. The archetypal characters within all of our stories and stepping off of the Triangle of Dis-empowerment. The Shadow, Projection and tools to dis-identify from the story. Authoring our own Epic and Mythic tale. Practices from the Hero's Journey to ensure that you remain the author of your story. Suggestions for solo ceremony at home to support your Hero's Journey.

Facilitator's Biography:

Toby Quinn 's spiral journey has been that of the archetypal Wounded Healer. His soul contracts have led him through many challenges and years of solitude, through which he has learned much of the art of transmutation, transformation and how to harvest the blessings from the persistent and often harsh teachers that stalked him for 25 years through the stories of addiction and mental illness. Finding solace, awe and wonder in nature and his connection to our Earth Mother early in life, Toby weathered his difficult childhood and adolescence and discovered his innate talent and passion for drumming.

-He holds a BA in Psychology, is a Reiki practitioner, has survived the good intentions, yet often misguided practices of western Psychotherapy and has been sober for almost 15years.

-Following his inner rhythm and guidance, Toby was lead to move from Philadelphia, where he had lived for many years apprenticing in the way of the Sweat Lodge, working for social and racial justice, drumming his heart into the many bands he played with and delving into Deep Ecological perspectives and practice with Joanna Macy. His journey led him to the awe inspiring landscapes of Alaska where he found a home at the White Raven Healing Center and continued his deep explorations of his inner landscapes with a Tlinglit Native and his wife as his beloved mentors, friends and guides.

-For five years in Alaska he supported himself as a professional drummer, playing in many bands, most notably the popular Photons, as well as through his ongoing shamanic trainings and practice, facilitating healing workshops at the White Raven Center and working as a counselor and family advocate for 7th and 8th grade Native Alaskan students and their families.

-Now in Ashland for 2 ½ years, Toby continues to step into and share his powerful gifts as a counselor, guide, mediator, drummer and Shamanic practitioner while continuing to refine his empathic, intuitive and claircognizant awarenesses.

-Toby continues his life-long learning along the shamanic path through recent initiations into the Peruvian lineage of Shaman referred to as the Laika or Earthkeepers. Toby is honored to humbly offer his services as Shaman and Energy Medicine practitioner to the community through individual client sessions, ceremony and teaching to those who feel the call. Toby is also passionately involved with local sustainability and social resiliency efforts as a Heart Circle Facilitator and member of the co-operative Village Farm. Toby's passion for integrity, truth and moving closer to source is evident to all who have shared time with him in Sacred Space.

Lecture: Asking the Body - A lecture/Demonstration of Applied Kinesiology
By Tom Clunie D.C

Suggested donation $2.00. Everyone welcome.

Presentation Description:

Applied Kinesiology (A.K.) - sometimes called muscle testing, energy medicine, touch for health, etc. - can be used to locate and correct subluxations anywhere in the body, as well as meridian/energy imbalances, and nutritional deficiencies. It is the most major innovation/expansion of acupuncture in thousands of years.
The body is a computer and the access code has finally been discovered - muscle testing - to tap into the body's vast store of knowledge of what it needs and requires for optimum health. With A.K. health practitioners can literally dialog with internal organs to ask what specific herb or vitamin they need for proper functioning. Dis-EASES from allergies and arthritis through ulcers and Zoster infections can be addressed with A.K. There is much scientific evidence corroborating A.K. but most of all it needs to be experienced to make it real.

Presenter's Biography:
Dr. Tom Clunie has been a Chiropractor since 1981 and currently practices in Talent, specializing in applied kinesiology and natural health care. Dr. Clunie has studied and applied Edgar Cayce health principles during his entire career as a health professional.

This Week: Zac Fairbanks-"Resonant Field Awareness"

Description:

In an age where many people are shifting their relationships out of a paradigm of isolation and fierce competition, and into one more focused upon cooperation and group resonance, how can we grow individually and collectively? As we explore group endeavors, intentional communities, shared life styles, and group resonant fields, we tend to find that our desire for cooperation and our actions toward it are not always, or sometimes ever, reconciled.

What are we actually doing then? What is co-operation? What is resonance and harmony? Are they valuable in and of themselves?

What values and ideas do we place on these concepts? How does one find their own sense of personal responsibility and relational clarity amidst this whirlwind of experiential insights and intellectual concepts?

How can one integrate the seemingly paradoxical relationship between the individual and communal aspects of Life? "We are all in this together, by ourselves," as Lilly Tomlin puts it.

Come and participate in exercises designed to deepen your understanding of how to more fully embody your self-mastery, how this effects your awareness in resonant fields, and how these practices forge you as an invaluable member of your community.

Facilitator's Biography:

Zach Fairbanks is a 27-year-old transplant from Bethel Alaska.
Growing up with a large family in isolated western Alaska - where
people's need for each other to survive can be quite apparent at times -
has given Zach a unique perspective on community living. After
receiving a BSc in Biology from Oregon State University he began an
intensive exploration of self-mastery, initiated by beginning a
masters degree program with Gaia University. During a nine month
Permaculture and Eco-village internship with Lost Valley Education
Center he gained a deeper understanding of communal living. Zach is a
trained Heart circle facilitator and has learned a significant amount
about resonant fields using this modality.

Currently Zach lives in Ashland Oregon where he enjoys practicing
Aikido, Zen meditation, building community and Wilderness
Awareness/Ecology studies.

Lecture: Take Back Your Motherland, People! A VIVID PRESENTATION on Creating a Space of Love and Reclaiming our Pristine Origins
By Rolando, Director of Shambhala Communities, LLC

Cost: $10.00 or Donation gratefully accepted to help defray venue costs and the Anastasia Eco-Settlement Project. No One Turned Away.

Presented by: Shambhala Shasta Community (Anastasia Eco-Settlement Project aka Motherland Project), Shambhala Nature Preserve, Shambhala Ecovillage Research & Educational Project, Shambhala Nature Conservancy

Introduction on the COMMUNITY ENERGY BANK by Chris Iverson, Project Co-Director, CEB Manager

Introduction on the GATEWAY to SHAMBHALA by Kate Hemlock, Intake & Communications Director

In honor of the upcoming workshop of Leonid Sharaskin, the Editor of the English edition of the epochal Ringing Cedar series of books on Anastasia, Shambhala - Shasta Community wishes to welcome those who are coming and invite you to learn more about our Earth changing project. It has been nearly two years since the inception of the Anastasia Eco-Settlement Project.. Like a young sprout breaking through the dirt, we have met the challenges of the rocks and stones on our path to emerge into the light of day. Surrounded by the aura and good thoughts of many bright souls from near and far, we gladly present the current stage of our tiny and still growing eco-settlement project.

The Motherland project is about reconnecting Man's primary relationship with Mother Earth, how we must never sever it, and how we can and MUST fully comprehend this mysterious relationship.

Shambhala Nature Preserve is now situated on 466-acres of heavily overgrazed former cattle pasture. The Nature Preserve will be afforested into beautiful woodland with groves, grottos, forest gardens and hiking trails.

Shambhala - Shasta Community invites you to participate in our Earth changing project. We have begun a process that encompasses sustainable agriculture, permaculture, land use planning, green building, community planning and alternative energy resources. It is a lesson in being good stewards of the Earth's resources through the reawakening consciousness towards our Pristine Origins.

We invite you to learn with us, co-create with us, and explore new ways of living in harmony with our great Mother Earth and each other.

Following the presentation will be an Introduction to the GATEWAY TO SHAMBHALA by our Intake & Volunteer Director, Kate Hemlock.

"The whole Earth could be a Motherland for each one of its inhabitants, and Man could be caressed by everything in the Universe, but for that to happen, he would need to join together all planes of being into a single point, call it his Motherland, and create with his own self a Space of Love therein.

Then all the best things of the Universe would come into contact with it firsthand - come into contact with the Space of your Motherland. You in yourself will feel the whole vast Universe through this point, and possess power unsurpassed. They will know about this on other worlds. Everything will serve you, as God, our Creator, wanted it." - Anastasia http://ringingcedars.com
