This Month: The Orphan Trains and My Grandpa Fred by Laura Derocher
Presentation Description:
I am honored to do a presentation about the historical Orphan Trains and my grandfather, Fred Derocher, who was one of up to 250,000 orphans who rode these trains from New York and Boston to the Midwest in search of families. It's my debut of this very personal presentation, honoring the wonderful man my grandfather turned out to be. David, I and my kids' musical theater group will perform two song from the musical "Orphan Train" as part of the presentation.
Presenter's Biography:
Laura Derocher is a singer, songwriter, recording artist, speaker, sound healer and interfaith minister of spiritual peacemaking. Laura draws on decades of musical theater and cabaret performance to create her unique, uplifting performances. A former corporate business consultant and trainer, Laura models her message in her inspirational concerts: follow your bliss to fulfill the Great Work you came to do. Our "Great Work" is both our inner development (learning to love and forgive, unveiling our true nature) as well as our outer service to others and our collective evolution.
