![]() Time: 6:30pm-10:00pm Location: Mobius Media Center 281 4th Street, Ashland The Ashland Spiritual Cinema Community (ASCC) is a collective of filmmakers and movie enthusiasts in the Southern Oregon region, who, in association with Hollywood producer and filmmaker Stephen Simon (What Dreams May Come, Somewhere In Time, Indigo) and in support of his vision, come together to celebrate , recognize, honor and promote the specific genre of Spiritual Cinema and to participate in the active development, presentation and discussion of this aspect of filmmaking and to further explore the positive effects this kind of cinema can generate in our lives and in the world around us. We encourage you to join us for an evening of conscious film viewing and a lively and engaging discussion. This Month's Film: This evening we will be screening the movie "Ghost" directed by Jerry Zucker and starring Demi Moore, Patrick Swayze and Whoopi Goldberg in her "Best Supporting Actress" Academy Award winning performance. Running Time: 2 hours 7 minutes "After renovating their expensive loft in the Tribeca section of Manhattan, Molly (Demi Moore) and Sam (Patrick Swayze), a young successful yuppie couple, are walking home one evening when Sam is tragically gunned down by a street mugger. Molly goes into a deep depression, but, unknown to her, Sam has come back as a ghost in order to protect her from danger--although he isn't yet aware who or what means her harm, and he has a lot of learning to do in order to make himself known to her. He teams up with an unwilling psychic Oda Mae (Whoopi Goldberg), and together they try to convince a very skeptical Molly that Sam was actually murdered and has returned spectrally to complete some unfinished business. Patrick Swayze and Demi Moore are excellent as the couple, and Whoopi Goldberg won an Oscar for her portrayal of the wild and wacky psychic. GHOST is considered by many to be one of the most romantic films of the 1990s." _____________ Meeting Format: 6:15-6:30pm: Arrival 6:30pm: Welcome & Announcements 6:40pm: Opening Circle 6:45-8:45pm: Film Screening 8:50-9:55pm: Discussion 9:55-10:00pm: Closing Circle Mystical Movie Nights are held the second Wednesday of every month at the Mobius Media Center.
