Have you ever given up on making New Year’s resolutions? After so many quickly fell away and became one more way to beat yourself up?
Most people, including me, have made resolutions about various aspects of self-improvement: diet and exercise, creating and maintaining order in the home, finances, work life, or changing habits that are self-destructive.
The problem is that when the new behaviors fail, as they often do, we end up using them to make ourselves miserable and to validate our inner critic.
In this lively and inspiring presentation, filled with wise and sometimes humorous insights, learn and explore how we can turn this around into ways to nurture and honor ourselves. By focusing on our strengths, not our shortcomings, we can begin to honor our true being and allow our best selves to shine.
Rev. Dr. Linda Reppond lives as a mostly retired CSL minister in Ashland, Oregon (CSL= “Center for Spiritual Living.”) While no longer working in a full-time ministry role, Dr. Linda remains a fierce advocate for young emerging spiritual leaders as a mentor and coach, as an honored elder at events, including as Chair of ReGeneration, the scholarship fund for young people entering ministry.
Dr. Linda was the founding minister of the Launching Pad, a dedicated young adult church in Centers for Spiritual Living. For over ten years, the Launching Pad, with locations in Berkeley, CA, St. George, Utah, and Ashland, Oregon, served as a magnet for conscious young adults who chose to live in community and be supported in deepening a personal spiritual practice and a community of peers who are living their truth and loving their lives.
She served as director of the National Runaway Switchboard, President of the National Network for Youth, and Executive Director for Seattle Youth and Community Services, Special Olympics Washington, and other charities.
Dr. Linda received a Masters in Consciousness Studies at the Holmes Institute in San Diego. She received her Doctor of Ministry at the Pacific School of Religion in Berkeley. She currently serves as the Youth Minister of her home church, Center for Spiritual Living Rogue Valley in Medford, Oregon (CSLRV).
