Servant Leadership in Theory & Practice by Libby Gill

January 30 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Free

WATCH RECORDING: https://youtu.be/cyTyGvpfmxU

Executive coach, leadership expert and author Libby Gill shares the concepts of servant leadership, a philosophy that focuses on serving others while meeting business objectives. In her interactive discussion, Libby will provide strategies for business and community leaders to put key principles, including empathy, collaboration and trust, into practice.

Key takeaways from her presentation will include:

• Creating a “lift-as-you-climb culture” where servant leaders consciously develop others’ capabilities; prioritize the needs of the team over their own; and promote trust and respect.

• Mastering the lessons of kaizen to make continuous improvement an organizational priority by focusing on leadership development at every career level.

• Understanding the distinctions between fixed and growth mindset in order to create lasting individual and institutional growth. Participants will learn why hope—and specifically the science of hope, called hope theory—is integral to people-centric leadership.

Libby Gill relocated to Medford in August, 2021 after many years of living in Los Angeles. She is the founder and president of Libby Gill & Company, a leadership coaching and consulting firm. Her clients include ADP, Disney, Honda, Microsoft, Rogue Credit Union, Sony, The Human Bean, United Healthcare, Wells Fargo; and many more.

She has been featured on the CBS Early Show, CNN, NPR, the Today Show and in the New York Times, O Magazine, the Wall Street Journal and many other media outlets. She is an international speaker and an award-winning author of six non-fiction books, including You Unstuck and The Hope-Driven Leader. Prior to founding her company in 2000, she was the head of communications for Sony, Universal, and Turner Broadcasting.

Libby serves as president of Women’s Leadership Connection (formerly Women’s Leadership Conference) of Southern Oregon; on the board of OHRA; and is the former vice chair of Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services, the first and largest suicide prevention center in the country.

NOTE: Libby is also a presenter at the Southern Oregon Homelessness Summit Saturday, Feb. 3 at Ashland Hills Hotel MORE INFO
