Lecture: Can Nutrients Quiet the Unquiet Brain?
By David Moyer

All Tueday evening events at
RVML are FREE ADMISSION

Presentation Description:

What causes mental illness? Genes? Foods? Vaccines? Microbes? Can nutrients restore mental health? How should we deal with the mentally ill?

Come and start the new year discovering new paradigms and effective interventions for bipolar and other central nervous system disorders. This workshop will focus on the four generation family odyssey that led me to paths less traveled - and to historic breakthroughs.

We will discuss multiple biological triggers and effective nutritional interventions for those suffering from what our culture calls mental illness. I will discuss the need for a fresh look at "mental" illness, its assessment and treatment. If you are a patient, parent, teacher, therapist, police officer, prison guard, nurses, doctors or judges, you will want to attend this workshop.

Here are some of the headlines:

-Seven of ten stable on nutrients without drugs!

-Two minute "mania-buster" lasts 24 hours!

-Lyme disease treatment stops psychosis!

Presenter's Biography:

David Moyer, retired Lt Col, USAF, is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and a Board Certified Diplomate with a 28 year career as a therapist and mental health administrator in the United States Air Force. An insider by virtue of his membership in the mental health profession and a family afflicted with manic-depressive illness spanning four generations, he not only provides a telling perspective of the institutions that deal with our most vulnerable citizens, but also offers practical recommendations for a better future for those who are called the "mentally ill."

MISSION STATEMENT OF THE NEW PARADIGM PROJECT

The mission of The New Paradigm Project is to educate American citizens as to the set of principles which are logically generated by an adherence to the basic pillar beliefs of the Sixth Paradigm "Natural Law" Worldview which have been identified by THE CAMBRIDGE INSTITUTE FOR THE STUDY OF ALTERNATIVE WORLDVIEWS, to educate American citizens as to the specific public policies and public and private programs which logically flow from an adherence to these principles and to compare and contrast the policies and programs of the "New Paradigm Worldview" with those generated by the other seven "Worldviews" so identified.

This "New Paradigm" Worldview is rooted in a cosmological belief in a holistic, unified monistic Universe; in an ontological belief in the manifestation within our Universe of Consciousness as an integral aspect of the make up of our Universe and in the epistemological belief that we human beings are a confluence of mass, energy and consciousness who not only naturally manifest within our Universe but who also possess a biological faculty of intuition (which is a biological faculty just like sight, hearing, touch, taste and smell) by means of which each individual human being is potentially capable of directly experientially accessing the physical phenomenon which bonds together every single ultimately-irreducible inchoate quantum field of incipient matter in the entire physical Universe into one unified, harmonious whole.

This "Worldview" generates a "Mode of Ethical Reasoning" pursuant to which adherents to this "New Paradigm Worldview" believe that every individual human being possesses the potential capability of experientially discerning what human conduct is harmonious with the natural order of the Universe and what human conduct is dis-harmonious to the natural order of the Universe.

Adherence to these pillar beliefs of the "New Paradigm Worldview" generate an adherence to a "Natural Law Philosophy", a "Progressive Political Philosophy", an "Archetypal Theory of Human Psychology", a "Radically Monistic Mode of Spiritual Expression" and the advocacy of a "Bio-Regional, Communitarian Social Form."

The New Paradigm Project will conduct a grassroots public education campaign of the nature of the 19th Century Chautauqua Movement; radio and television programs and a major educational website. It will also sponsor the writing of books; the production of musical recordings; the writing and production of stage plays, television programs; large screen and television documentaries and motion pictures.

RVML's Video & Discussion Series: The Merchants of Cool

All Tueday evening events at
RVML are FREE ADMISSION

Note: This program can also be viewed on-line for free at http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/cool/view/" Target="_blank">http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/pages/frontline/shows/cool/view/

Video Description:

They spend their days sifting through reams of market research data. They conduct endless surveys and focus groups. They comb the streets, the schools, and the malls, hot on the trail of the "next big thing" that will snare the attention of their prey--a market segment worth an estimated $150 billion a year.

They are the merchants of cool: creators and sellers of popular culture who have made teenagers the hottest consumer demographic in America. But are they simply reflecting teen desires or have they begun to manufacture those desires in a bid to secure this lucrative market? And have they gone too far in their attempts to reach the hearts--and wallets--of America's youth?

FRONTLINE correspondent Douglas Rushkoff examines the tactics, techniques, and cultural ramifications of these marketing moguls in "The Merchants of Cool." Produced by Barak Goodman and Rachel Dretzin, the program talks with top marketers, media executives and cultural/media critics, and explores the symbiotic relationship between the media and today's teens, as each looks to the other for their identity.

What's Important to Ashlanders? Come Share Ideas!

Join in for We the People (of Ashland, Oregon)'s chance to truly effect change in government structuring. The City of Ashland is re-writing the Ashland City Charter - i.e. the City's Constitution! - (from 1/20/05 to 5/05) from the ground up! The first meeting is being held on Jan 20th and it is in that meeting that the agenda and tone will be set.

The Constitution/Charter of the City of Ashland is being re-done and we want you to say what you want. The government works for us, not the other way around; let's take this chance to make it work that way in the real world!

A City Constitution/Charter explains the legal powers of the corporation (for those of you who don't know, the city is actually a corporation) - the charter defines the economic and decision powers and so forth of the corporation, as well as the official transfer of power from the people to the corporation.

This re-writing of the city charter is our BIG TIME CHANCE to get our heads and hearts together and take our rightful place at the table as valid individuals. Let's meet Sunday, invite people & gather energy and ideas.

It is important that the people make it known that the number one agenda item is the re-formatting of the power-structure to be more responsive to the people. We might best make it clear that the decisions of the people/individuals must be directly responded to.

Come help us define the people's agenda to help re-shape our government to be run based on the will and decisions of "We the People" - where the individuals make the decisions. This will involve the local community showing up - loud and clear - as a formidable force that wants a new structure and format in the charter that includes dialogue by and of the people.

Misc ~ The 1/20 city meeting will be covered by a local Independent New Service - a working group starting to create a local independent news service; it is open to all that are interested. It's mission is to get messages (just like this one) out by the people to the people. Art Bullock put it well when he asked, "What's the most popular part of the paper? The editorials." It points to the importance of and interest in community
dialogue. To find out more, call Art Bullock at 541-488-3366.

ALSO MARK YOUR CALENDARS for 01-20-05! It is of utmost importance that there is a community force at the FIRST CITY CHARTER REVIEW MEETING. Where?/When?: Thurs. 1/20, 7pm-9pm, SOU, 1250 Siskiyou Blvd., Stevenson Union, The Rogue River Room, use the parking lot on Mountain Avenue at
Henry).

CHECK OUT THE CHARTER REVIEW COMMITTEE PUBLIC FORUM DETAILS
at http://www.ashland.or.us/ccbindex.asp?ccbid=213.

Costs: If possible, please donate $5, or whatever you can, to help cover the room-rental/public service announcement/flyers/handouts etc. If not, no worries... Participation is key... absolutely no one will be turned away.

Douglas Falkner
Lecture: Master Homeopaths as Modern Day Shamans: A Scientific Approach to Spiritual Healing
By Douglas Falkner, M.D.

All Tueday evening events at
RVML are FREE ADMISSION

Presentation Description:

At odds with all materialistic views of disease, homeopathy rests on sound spiritual principles that defy conventional explanation and logic. The Master Homeopath works like the authentic medicine man or Shaman, aiming to effect a spiritual correction for his or her patient, and thereby restore health and well-being. Its founder, Samuel Hahnemann, MD, was a free mason, a training whose spiritual roots date back to antiquity, to the time of Solomon's temple. This talk will help us to see our deepest healing potential in a new light, as we discuss how the homeopathic approach can bring about a deep and lasting transformation back to health.

Presenter's Biography:

Douglas Falkner, M.D., M.Hom, brings nearly a decade of clinical experience to his Ashland based practice of Classical Hahnemanian Homeopathy. Founder of Ashland Mountain Homeopathic Medicine, he is also a trained Emergency Physician, and has recently received the prestigious diploma of Certified Master Homeopath from Vega Rozenberg's world renowned Evolution of Self School of Homeopathy (ESSH) in Flagstaff, Arizona. Dr. Falkner works with people nationally and overseas and is available for both in person and phone consultations long distance.

Dr. Falkner has an office in Ashland. Call (541) 552-1400. E-mail: drfalkner@tryhomeopathy.com

Free Introduction to Energetic Anatomy: Energy Perception and Healing
By Mark Rich

NOTE: This is a free introduction to Mark's workshop on January 22 & 23. http://www.rvml.org/calendar/wc01222005.htm

Description:

Train with Mark Rich, the author of 'Energetic Anatomy: Understanding and Using the Human Energy System'.

What you will do:

This workshop is designed for you to learn real and powerful tools that you can use to heal yourself and others. This is not a conceptual class; rather, it is designed for people who want to directly see, feel and use the human energy system and what lies beyond it.

We will move from total introduction to a deep level of awareness. Exercises to awaken your awareness and abilities to see and feel energy will be first. This will be a deepening process. This state of awareness will be cultivated, growing stronger as the hours pass, moving you past your ordinary limitations.

Riding the momentum of the awakening work, we will go further, using this energy to heal. In groups and as individuals, you will see that perception is only a first step. We are meant to use these energies. The second day will show you how to use these energies for healing ourselves and others.

Soul Energetics Workshop
Freeing Ourselves From the Dictates of Social Conditioning
By Emily Waymire

Cost: $50.00 Preregister by calling (541) 488-9716.
Or e-mail Info@MovementsOfTheSoul.org

Early pre-registration is highly recommended. Space is limited.

Workshop Description:

"It was impossible to maintain my usual cerebral orientation in Emily's
processes. There was a palpable 'soul climate'. I found myself immersed in
feelings and senses and deeply moved. Since the experience, I have felt
that I am fully engaged in my life." - Lynnette Allen

How is it that we can free ourselves from the hidden dynamics that keep us entangled with forces outside ourselves? In an amplified Field of Awareness we will unify our bodies and Souls through breath, sound and Energetic Matrix Systems. In this highly experiential process people report a loosening of physical, mental and emotional holding patterns that keep them tied to fates that are not even theirs. The result is the tangible and permanent embodiment their our unique Soul's mission.

Soul Energetics is the process that Emily uses in conjunction with Hellinger Family Constellations and The Movements of the Soul.

"The heartbeat of this work is in helping people to distinguish what the soul loves and needs from the blind pressures of social conditioning, religious prejudice, and political ideology." -Hunter Beaumont, Ph.D. Co-Author of Love's Hidden Symmetry.

Presenter's Biography:

Beginning as a fine artist and educator, Emily created state-funded substance abuse prevention programs for New York City homeless shelters using Art Therapy. Realizing she had a gift for sensing subtle energies, she began training with leaders in the Transpersonal and Energy Medicine communities including five years of formalized study with Dr. Michael Mamas, Dr. Pat Hamilton (The Northwest School for Healing), Rev. Shelby Hammitt, Carolyn Myss and Barbara Brennan.

She spent another three years in personalized apprenticeship programs and studying Transpersonal Hypnotherapy with The Alchemy Institute. In 1997 as administrator for The Heartspring Center (Seattle) and creator of The Heartspring Assistantship Program, she mentored a team of newly trained hypnotherapists. During that time she taught conflict resolution through Peace Between People in the Washington State Prison system.

After traveling twice to Brazil to meet with John of God, she received the ability to access the dimension of the Ancestral Soul. Certified to facilitate Family Constellation Therapy through The Hellinger Institute of California and ZIST (Germany) she currently travels internationally facilitating Movements Of The Soul workshops in which she combines her experience with Energy Medicine, Masculine/Feminine Polarity and the Ancestral Soul. From her 10 years of experience with Re-evaluation Co-counseling and diverse populations, she brings a unique sociological understanding to her client's issues.

Emily has a private practice in Ashland. She can be reached at (541) 488-9716. e-mail: Info@MovementsOfTheSoul.org

Workshop: Energetic Anatomy: Energy Perception and Healing
By Mark Rich

A 2-day Intensive Workshop

Enter a new world. See, feel, and use energy.

Cost: $195.00

Workshop Description:

Lecture: Fear and Fate- Looking Forward to the Future-
Political Constellations in the Service of Reconciliation
By Emily Waymire

All Tueday evening events at
RVML are FREE ADMISSION

Presentation Description:

Lecture including live demonstration with Q&A period.

In this time of political upheaval and apparent imbalance in the world we may find ourselves drawn into heated debate about what is "right". If we remain conscious during this period we can easily see that we are quick to embody the same energy and stance that we judge as wrong. But does our own judgment, fear and contraction, all in the name of peace, truly serve peace?

We will be exploring, through the lens of Hellinger Political Constellations, what peace can really mean. Does peace include conflict, even war? How can we reconcile the war within ourselves in order that we may embrace a larger Fate and come to a deeper, more inclusive sense of true peace.

Based on the work of Hellinger Family Constellations these live demonstrations show the possibility of a radically new way of being, from the personal to the global. By having people represent different aspects, people, victims, perpetrators and/or nations we can witness the underlying dynamic behind the conflict of larger systems.

In this work the representatives actually feel, know and think as that which they are representing with no role playing involved. The result reveals not only the obvious conflict, but the love and peace that is the actual root cause of war. Witnessing this our own limited beliefs are challenged and we are called to a higher level of compassion and understanding about the human condition.

"When we no longer meet one another as one person to another, but rather, as part of our own group, and look at others as part of their own group, we are blind to the individual. As part of a group we are easily led away from our true selves - that is, we become mindless, dissolving our individuality and losing ourselves in the collective." -Bert Hellinger

Presenter's Biography:

Emily has worked for 16 years with a range of diverse populations. Her interest in the sociological conditionings that lead to suffering have led her to bring her healing work to the New York City homeless shelter system, institutionalized children, prisons, people with disabilities and chronic illness, people living with psychosis, those who have survived cults and ritualized abuse, and anyone with a yearning to wake up from the illusion of suffering to the truth of their perfection.

Certified to facilitate Family Constellation Therapy through The Hellinger Institute of California and ZIST (Germany) she currently travels internationally facilitating Movements Of The Soul workshops in which she combines her training in Energy Medicine, Masculine/Feminine Polarity and the Ancestral Soul. From her 10 years of experience with Re-evaluation Co-counseling and diverse populations, she brings a unique sociological understanding to her clients' issues.

Workshop: Shamanic Breath of Power Group Journey
With Robin Houghton

COST: $20.00 -50.00 Sliding Fee Scale

Workshop Description:

The Shamanic Breath of Power is a simple, natural, profoundly powerful transformative and spiritual tool. While being learned, the process is maintained and controlled by the individual, with minimal guidance in methodology from myself as facilitator, maximizing the experience of self-healing and self-empowerment. The method is rooted in biochemistry and works for every participant, regardless of expectation or belief (although a positive optimism is always helpful!).

People have claimed relief of life-long negative emotional & mental patterns and addictions, as well as the cessation of physical conditions ranging from stress, postural or weight problems, to asthma, allergies, even chronic fatigue syndrome and cancer.

Please come with: a pad, blanket, optional pillow, personal water, having eaten lightly, a Spirit of Trust & Openness.

Presenter's Biography:

Robin Houghton has studied a wide variety of healing modalities since the early 1970's, progressing steadily from therapeutic orientations toward simple & profound self-healing and empowerment techniques. Originally trained as a Rebirther by Leonard Orr in 1977, he has gradually shifted the focus of his work from a primarily therapeutic to a neo-shamanic, self-empowerment perspective.

Having worked with approx. 1600 people in group and individual sessions, he provides expert teaching, safety, and support. Robin also works with Reiki healing energy transmission, as a teacher of Sufi Dances of Universal Peace, in Sacred Ceremony as a legally ordained minister, spiritual music, chanting, and toning, and many other activities centered in Spirit & Joy!!
