Lecture: An Introduction to Shamanism

Presentation Description:

Shamanism is a powerful, ancient belief system and lifestyle. Within its core lies the knowing that Spirit exists in everything, and all things are connected within the infinite fabric of life. A hallmark of shamanism is the "shamanic journey." It enables the shaman/medicine person abilities to access ordinarily hidden realms and realities for the purpose of healing. Animal spirits and various other spirit teachers and helpers guide and accompany the shaman at all times.

Join Ann for this informal talk where she will answer these and other questions:

What is shamanism?
What are the lower, middle and upper worlds?
What are power animals?
What is the shamanic journey? Why learn to do it? How can it help?
What is shamanic healing?
Why is ceremony important in shamanism?
How can we all live a shamanic lifestyle?

Presenter's Biography:

Since 1982 when she began her homebirth midwifery practice, to her first shamanic journey ten years later, Ann Fuller, Hands-on and Shamanic Healer/Teacher, has been helping people heal. She walks a path of Faith and Trust and believes miracles are possible in every moment. In 1996, Ann underwent an Andean initiation ritual and became recognized as a fourth level "paqo" or priest in the Andean mystical tradition by Juan Nunez del Prado, internationally known anthropologist, Andean priest and mystic. Her conscious near-death experience in 1997 fully solidified her feet on the shamanic path.

Today Ann assists people of all ages, from pre-birth to post-death, who experience discomfort on any level. This includes: physical and mental illness, emotional suffering, post-traumatic stress, addiction, spiritual dilemma, spiritual awakening, and more. Her work with young people is especially powerful. She is the intercessor of a week long "healing quest" ceremony every summer, and leads groups on spiritual pilgrimages to countries including Tibet, Peru and Mexico. Ann is president of "Pillar of Light" an organization dedicated to healing and awakening the Human Soul and the restoration of Faith in the Divine. She lives in Ashland, Oregon, travels upon request, and shares her unique medicine and perspective in private sessions, classes, workshops, ceremonies, and community outreach.

Private Healings:

Each healing session is a ceremony and lasts about 2.5 hours. Participants are encouraged to bring a friend or family member to support and witness their healing, as shamanism is a lifestyle of interconnectedness and community. It is recommended to have an open schedule after the ceremony. This both enhances and respects the post-healing experience and allows each client time and space to become acclimated to their newly refined energy field/soul.

Lecture: Life & Business Coaching- The New and Emerging Field
By Zenah Blair

$3-5 Suggested donation
(Everyone welcome, no one turned away)

Presentation Description:

Lecture & slides with Q&A period.

Have you heard of coaching, yet don't quite really understand what it is? You are not alone. What is this new field called Coaching? It seems 8 out of 10 people have not heard of it, 1/10 has heard of it, but only has a vague idea of what it is, and 1 out of 10 really knows and/or has some type of direct experience of what it is.

The coaching field will only become more commonplace as time goes by; so attend this talk to be in the know. Coaching is a new and emerging service industry field that functions across industry segments and works for people with all different types of lifestyles and goals.

One question the coaching industry asks is how much greater would this world be if we all had our own personal advocate to help us connect with our own inner priorities, and to do what only we can know is best and most meaningful for us and our role in the world, and then we even had someone to hold us to that vision!?

Find out about the roots of coaching, where and how it started, what training is involved, how to find a coach that is right for you, what types of scenarios coaching is useful for, and how it is regulated. If you are just plain curious about the history and functions of the coaching field, what it really is, how it may benefit you or those you know, or just want to explore, then this is the lecture for you!

Mesmerizing and utterly profound, yet wonderfully accessible, 1 Giant Leap reminds us all of what we're capable of achieving." * * * * Filmtreat.com

Monday Evening January 16, 2006 7-9 PM

Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library, A Street, Ashland

$5 Guests, $4 Seniors 62+, $3 SONCGR Members

On this evening Sandra looks to the Muse of Planet Neptune to inspire philosophical queries for our New Year. We will invite the playful, the practical and the profound to infuse our quest for meaning with new vigor this year. Though the symbolic "lense of the heavens" that astrology offers, we may both widen our mental view-finders, and deepen the nature of the vital questions we ask of ourselves and our world. Come stimulate the discourse with your presence.

Sandra has produced several Astrology forums for outer Planet ingresses, including, Awakening the Divine Mind - An Astrological Forum to Commemorate Neptune in Aquarius, 1998-2012 in Santa Cruz, CA. She writes
annually for We-Moon an Astrological Datebook and Calendar, and currently offers in-depth readings, classes and workshops on Integrating Saturn Returns and Healing with the Zodiac. To query further, call 541-734-8835 or e-mail, sandrapastorius@aol.com.

Lecture: The Magical Future - Magic, Metapolitics, and Reality in the Twilight of the Industrial Age
By John Greer

$3-5 Suggested donation
(Everyone welcome, no one turned away)

Presentation Description:

As our modern industrial society stumbles from one self-induced crisis into another, it's crucial to realize that we can't solve our problems with the same thinking that created them. Even our most basic assumptions about what's real have to be questioned, for behind the ordinary politics of interest groups and self-seeking officialdom lies the deeper world of metapolitics, where the nature of reality itself is up for grabs.

350 years ago, the scientific revolution redefined the world as a place where matter is the only thing that matters and people have value only as interchangeable cogs in an industrial machine. Yet the triumph of materialist metapolitics was never total; a hidden stream of secret societies and initiatory lineages have preserved the indigenous wisdom traditions of our own culture right up to the present.

At the heart of those traditions is magic -- the art and science of causing change in consciousness in accordance with will. The abolition of magic was essential to the making of the industrial age, because magic challenges the basic project of industrialism, the creation of a "prosthetic society" in which people surrender their own abilities to the industrial machine and replace them with technological substitutes.

Today the nonexistence of magic is an article of faith for most people in the industrial world, even as methods of advertising and social engineering based on the old lore of magic play an ever larger role in papering over the cracks in the industrial facade. As the art of human potential, magic offers an extraordinary toolkit of possibilities to those willing to reclaim their own power and reinvent themselves and their world.

Workshop: Deeksha Intensive

Cost: $60.00

Workshop Description:

Awaken to the Truth of Who You Are- Deeksha is a transfer of energy for enlightenment. It quiets the mind and activates the witness state. Join us for an unusual opportunity to deepen your connection with the Divine and receive deeksha from four experienced deeksha givers who have been initiated through the grace of Sri Bhagavan and Amma to transmit the energy of deeksha.

As we awaken we discover our natural state. Our natural state is clear and open and present; it includes deep peace, causeless joy, unconditional love and spontaneous wisdom. For us to live permanently in our natural state involves a re-patterning of the neuro-biology of our brain and nervous system. This happens by grace.

When these changes occur in our nervous system, we naturally and effortlessly find our selves relaxed, present and awake. There is now a process of energy transmission that triggers these neurobiological changes; it cools down the areas of the brain that cause us to perceive ourselves as separate and it quickens those associated with peace, joy, love, compassion and wisdom. It is called, "deeksha." Deeksha is literally a transmission of grace. It not only facilitates spiritual awakening, but can also result in physical healing and the unraveling of conditioned patterns, which create psychological symptoms such as anxiety and depression.

The focus of the Deeksha Intensive will be awakening to the Truth of who you are. The morning session will focus on clearly seeing the "me" or false self that is not our true nature. This will include deeksha and experiential exercises to help you discover that you are not your thoughts, body or your conditioned patterns. The afternoon session will focus on directly experiencing the clear and present field of Pure Awareness that you truly are. Coming into contact with this allows us to be just as we are, without resistance. When there is no division inside, there is just a beautiful flow of life experience and causeless joy.

Now is the time for our human species to wake up, together. As more of us awaken, a new pattern becomes established in our human consciousness and it becomes easier for all of us. As we awaken together, we are content and fulfilled in our own being; divisiveness and conflict disappear as we begin seeing each other as our own self. As we awaken, just by being who we naturally are, we co-create a new world together.

"The more you know, the more there is to know!"

In this interactive forum, participants gain an ever-broadening understanding of being human while navigating the complexities of the greater reality. In contrast to a typical discussion forum, participants are encouraged to explore ideas from a metaphysical perspective, where no idea is too far-out!

Utilizing intellect and intuition, participants explore: What is our purpose for existence? Where did we come from? How do our souls come into being? What is the triune nature of mind?

Video Description:

"Science and the Power of Prayer"

We know that prayer comforts us, but can it heal us, physically as well as spiritually? This award-winning film, featuring Drs. Larry Dossey and Joan Borysenko, among others, attempts to answer that question. More people are praying today than ever, and studies show the beneficial effects of those prayers. What we must learn to do is harness that energy by getting in touch with non-local mind. Although prayer may not give you the answer you want, it will always give you an answer.

Because the last half of the 20th century has made a deity of science, the question as to whether or not prayers can be heard has been taken to the lab. More than 140 studies give ample proof that prayers are answered even though that answer is not always what we want.

We have not yet learned how to harness this energy, but many healers say that they are most effective when they are in touch with the energy of unconditional love. As Teilhard de Chardin says:

"Someday, after we've harnessed the winds, the waves, the tides, and gravity, we will harness for God the energies of Love: and then, for the second time in the History of the World . . . Man will have discovered Fire!" All the people in this video have discovered ways to get in touch with Non-Local Mind and have suggestions that may help you.

Lecture: The Allies of Humanity: An Urgent Message for Mankind
By Will Burrows

$3-5 Suggested donation
(Everyone welcome, no one turned away)

Presentation Description:

There is a great darkness building in the world. You can see it and feel it. The energy and resource needs of burgeoning economies and populations are outstripping the Earth's ability to supply them. The planet is headed for climate destabilization, environmental degradation, economic instability, and increasing conflict. But above all, at this moment of global vulnerability, there is an Extraterrestrial Intervention poised to use these converging crises to carry out its agenda of gaining dominance over the world.

The Allies of Humanity briefings (read them at http://www.alliesofhumanity.org)" Target="_blank">http://www.alliesofhumanity.org) present a startling new revelation about the nature and intentions of this Intervention and how it is taking advantage of human conflict, resource depletion and religious strife to separate and control a divided human family. This is the Greater Darkness in the world. This revolutionary communique from our allies in the universe, which is now circulating worldwide, presents a profound calling for human strength, unity and our emergence as a free race into a Greater Community of intelligent life.

Join Will Burrows for a further exploration of the implications of the Allies of Humanity message, what it means for your life and what you can do about it. The future of our freedom and self determination in a Greater Community of intelligent life is in question. We must learn a new Knowledge and Wisdom to prepare ourselves and our world for a future unlike anything we have ever known.

Presenter's Biography:

Will Burrows is a representative of Marshall Vian Summers, the author and recipient of the Allies of Humanity Briefings and the Greater Community Way of Knowledge. Will is a long-time student and advocate of the Greater Community Way of Knowledge. He lives in Boulder, Colorado, where he works to preserve and promote Marshall's sacred writings.

From the Allies of Humanity Website:

The evolution of our planet now requires a deeper and more comprehensive understanding from us. We need a context in which to actually see what is happening.

Our world is emerging into a Greater Community of intelligent life and is already being 'visited' by several alien races. This presents both tremendous challenges and a great opportunity. To realize the potential for good in this situation requires a growth toward a higher consciousness called "Knowledge".

Additionally we need wisdom about the Rules of Engagement. We run the risk of loosing the sovereignty of our home planet unless we are willing to learn about the evolutionary threshold in a realistic way.
