Gen-X Video & Discussion Series: Metaphysical Idea Forum for the Next Generation

Alternative dialogue for people 18-32 - EVERY THURSDAY 7-9pm

60-minute video or lecture presentation followed by interactive discussion.

FREE ADMISSION

Description:

Interesting people, fascinating information and extra-ordinary conversation in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. "The Truth is Out There"

Sacred Geometry - Alternative History - New Technology - Parapsychology - Divine Creativity - Mythology - UFOs - Alternative Energy - ESP - Meditation - Remote Viewing - Subtle Energies - Crop Circles

Metaphysics is beyond physics, referring to any phenomena associated with the non-physical realm, including the quantum forces of sub atomic physics and the supernatural.

"The more you know, the more there is to know!"

In this interactive forum, participants gain an ever-broadening understanding of being human while navigating the complexities of the greater reality. In contrast to a typical discussion forum, participants are encouraged to explore ideas from a metaphysical perspective, where no idea is too far-out!

Utilizing intellect and intuition, participants explore: What is our purpose for existence? Where did we come from? How do our souls come into being? What is the triune nature of mind?

Lecture Presentation by John Palombo

"Groundwork - The Nature of Reality"

Most recently inspired by the work of Jane Roberts, John Palombo will begin to help lay groundwork on the nature of the metaphysical realm's interaction with the physical realm.

Is it true that this reality is but a figment of our imaginations? Can we control this reality just the same way we can control the events that unfold in a lucid dream?

Enjoy an evening of going deeper with some of the most sought after realizations of all humanity's quandaries; for they are insights that have been with us all our lives that have just been awaiting remembrance.

Presenter's Biography:

John Palombo has studied the work of Carlos Castaneda, Terence McKenna, Paulo Coelho, Frank Herbert and J.R.R. Tolkein. He was inspired early on with his father's story of how a being of light awoke him in the night and healed him of his sterility; in which he promptly conceived with his mother and gave way to John's timely arrival. John, enjoying alchemy, is a chef by trade and has a passion in creating supportive and creative environments for people to express their passions. He also enjoys digital arts: electronic music composition, digital photography, and video editing.

Note: Intended for participants 18-30 years-old only.

Jordan's interest quickly snowballed into an enormous hunger for more and more information which eventually led to the founding of Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library & Events Center in Ashland, Oregon in the Fall of 2001.

In addition to his work as RVML's director, Jordan continues to do A/V production work for large conferences around the country and is currently raising chickens and sheep in his back yard.

Karen Kiester
Lecture: Healing with Bach Flower Essences
By Karen Kiester

$3-5 Suggested donation
(Everyone welcome, no one turned away)

Presentation Description:

Bach Flower Essences are a simple and natural method of gaining equilibrium and harmony for the personality by means of wild flower remedies discovered in the 1930s by British Dr. Edward Bach. Bach, a medical doctor and bacteriologist, believed that if a patient's emotional balance was corrected, the body's natural ability to throw off illness would be strengthened. Many people are familiar with the one composite essence, Rescue Remedy.

The essences work on the emotional state of the person concerned. They aim to transform the negative attitudes associated with disease and/or stress into positive ones. This, in turn, allows the body's own physical system to fight disease and associated stress. You do not have to be physically ill to benefit from the Bach Flower Essences. In times of difficulty and fatigue when negative feelings creep in, the essences can restore balance before any physical symptoms appear. Come learn about these amazing essences and what they can bring to your life.

Karen Kiester is a Bach Flower Essences Practitioner, a Certified Natural Vision Improvement Instructor, Gaia Reiki Master Teacher, and a recovering corporate computer programmer/analyst.

Video: David Suzuki Speaks

Video Description:

"When I first encountered First Nations people, they told me we are made of the four sacred elements: earth, air, fire and water. As I reflected on that, I realized we've framed the environmental problem the wrong way. There's no environment "out there" for us to interact with. We are the environment, because we are the Earth. For me, that began a whole shift in the way that I looked at the issues that confront us and the way we live on this planet." -David Suzuki

Earth + Air + Fire + Water = Life. In a time when people are thirsty for honesty, inspiration, meaning and global change, comes renowned scientist and visionary Dr. David Suzuki, delivering the most important message of his career: what it means to be fully human in our interconnected universe. The film's stunning motion graphics weave a tapestry that transforms Dr. Suzuki's wisdom into a complete sensory experience, literally creating new worlds and new ways of seeing. Suzuki Speaks will leave you feeling renewed, challenged and alive.

Lecture: Lifting the Leaf and Loving the Lovely
By Brad Carrier, M. Div

$3-5 Suggested donation
(Everyone welcome, no one turned away)

Presentation Description:

Our natural interest in sex is susceptible to shame. The Garden of Eden myth shows the results of shame when the natural (created and called "good" by God in Genesis One) gets labeled evil (by confused people in Genesis Two/Three). It wasn't sex that caused that fall. It was and is the shame and blame game, foisted on us still by many religions. By shaming the erotic our culture becomes neurotic.

Snakes aren't deceivers. Whatever alienates us from our bodies, each other, our garden, and our God - is a subtle deceiver. By "lifting the leaf and loving the lovely", we get past the opposites to live in our bodies, with each other, in Earth's life, as a religious way of being freely and fully human. By reinterpreting this crucial cosmogonic creation myth we help heal our personal psyches and cultural character. Both deserve more celebration and fulfillment.

Presenter's Biography:

Brad Carrier earned his BA in Psychology and Philosophy at Oakland University before completing a Master's of Divinity at the University of Chicago. He spent years with Dr. Vasavada (trained by Dr. Carl Jung), traveling with him to meet The Blind Saint of Vrindivan, India. Brad completed graduate training in Humanism in New York before coming to Ashland, where he was the first minister of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship (on 4th St.) from 1986 - 1994. Since then, he switched to hard labor, and builds rock retaining walls.

Now he is promoting God's Goods, a new religious perspective, at the "A" Street Marketplace (corner of Oak) on Sunday mornings at 10:30am

"Thinking with our Senses: Opening to the Intent of Life"

Description:

A common belief is that we only use one-tenth of our brain. In actuality, we may be using only one-hundred-trillionth of our mental capacity or less.

Our common mode of thought is a limited by being language-based. It has given our species an illusory superiority and a separation from the rest of life. Its limitations cannot provide understanding and have been the source of all our problems, both as a species and as individuals.

We have another mode of thought outside the tiny strings of verbal logic, another mode of though that senses and directs the infinitely complex functioning of our bodies as part of the life-process of a living universe.

For most of the history of our species, humans operated primarily in this mode of thought. We still have rare access to it- we call it intuition. It is sensory and symbolic, and is the source of our dreams and visions. It is a vast intelligence that resides in our genes and holds the intent of our evolution.

In this presentation we will experience and explore this intelligence.

Presenter's Biography:

Armando Busick has spent over 40 years in study and synthesis of Shamanism, the I Ching, the Chakras, the Qaballa, Cosmology, and Cybernetics. In 1973 he shared his journal with the philosopher Alan Watts who pointed him to a then newly developed calculus of consciousness a calculus with a single symbol. This inspired him to develop a single symbol (Treei) that is a distillation of the ancient symbol systems, and a practical application as an interface to understand and use the greater function of our mind.

Note: Intended for participants 18-30 years-old only.

Presentation Description:

In the 1960s, Rennie Davis was the coordinator of the largest anti-war and civil rights coalition in the United States and one of the Chicago 7. Recognizing that many political activists of that period have moved on, aligning today more to the writings of Deepak Chopra or the PBS Specials of Wayne Dyer, Rennie speaks about the present time with new information about natural cycles shaping this time and the possibility to create a new direction on earth.

Topics Include:

-The time in which we live
-Walking out of the prison of the human condition
-Disconnecting from social consciousness
-A present day natural cycle of the sun--a genesis medium that created the 23rd pair of chromosomes and the first human beings
-New humanity communities
-Breakthrough technologies for self-sufficient community developments

Rennie Davis is also presenting a unique all day New Humanity Workshop on Saturday February 25 with new information about the physical changes involved in experiencing divine human, including how to take the reins of your own DNA and how to develop the blood system, kundalini organ, cold fusion and other biological steps that support a new stage of awareness.

Presenter's Biography

In the 1960s, Rennie Davis organized many of this country's most dramatic public events, including the largest civil disobedience demonstrations in American history. He remains a recognized spokesman for his generation, featured on numerous network television documentaries and media forms, from VH1 to CNN, the Legend series produced by CBS, Larry King Live, Barbara Walters and Phil Donahue. He has served as a strategic planner for CEOs of diverse Fortune 500 companies. He is currently President of the Foundation for a New Humanity.

"In today's generation, the world's certainty that external events are the cause of every human trouble is being re-examined. A considerable population is now asking, is it possible that within our own buried beliefs, we unknowingly create our own fearful condition? In a new inquiry into the origin of the human crisis, a key to unlock the prison of the human condition appears, inspiring a new direction on Earth." -Rennie Davis

The Workshop:

A new humanity is the decision to create a new direction in the world. This workshop describes the practical steps for achieving the divine human experience. Presented in three one day sessions spanning a period of four to six months, this unique series is for those who would understand the role of thought, social consciousness and the mitochondria DNA in creating the experiences of their own world in order to author their own life.

Participants receive new information about the physics and construction of the physical universe, the design of the human body, body changes that support a new stage of awareness, re-scripting the blood and mitochondria DNA for health and longevity, creating life from the stomach region and infusing life into the world.

Session One: Re-scripting Your Self

The first workshop on February 25 describes the three components that constitute the design of every human being. Your Self is one of those components. A psychological construct, your Self is whatever you say it is. How you see others is how you see your Self. How you see your Self is how you experience the world. Participants learn to create a new Self from which to experience a new world.

Out of a unique description of the origin of your own existence, today's world is pinpointed on a vast evolutionary map. Every major cycle engaging and shaping this time is identified. Both the legacy and birthright of humanity are described for those who desire a deeper appreciation of the human achievement. The workshop introduces the considerable capacity of the human body, including new information on the chakra system, cold fusion, pink adrenalin and the precise, safe steps for activating the kundalini organ-cornerstones for the experience of a new humanity.

Lecture: The Lesson of Cancer and Chronic Disease
By Dean Shrock, Ph.D.

$3-5 Suggested donation
(Everyone welcome, no one turned away)

Presentation description:

While Director of Mind-Body Medicine for a physician management group of forty cancer centers, Dean Shrock, Ph.D. developed, taught, and researched a program that extended survival with cancer. His book, Doctor's Orders: Go Fishing, details this program and the insights he gained while teaching it.

Dr. Shrock concluded that what made the greatest difference in why these people lived longer was because they felt listened to and cared for. When he asked cancer survivors and their families what they learned that helped them the most of all the things he taught, they said, "you listened, you cared, and you were sincere." This confused and surprised him at first. He spent two hours each week for six weeks teaching them about the will to live, the power of beliefs, relaxation and guided imagery, stress management, and other coping skills, but they responded most to feeling supported.

Dr. Shrock believes that human factors and relationships are primary factors in healing. Whether we call it love or social support, connecting with someone emotionally and spiritually is the essence of life and health. We all know the power of beliefs as demonstrated so strongly by the placebo effect. But perhaps no belief is stronger or healthier than knowing we are unconditionally loved and cared for.

However, many things happen to erode our self-esteem, including experiences of abandonment in childhood. This can lead to feeling good about ourselves only when we're pleasing others and conforming to the arbitrary values of our culture. This may be the greatest reason why we find it difficult to have peace of mind: At a deep psychic level we equate conforming with being loved. We learn ways of presenting ourselves to the world so we'll feel accepted. But what we need is to feel loved, cared for, and supported for being our unique selves. Your health depends on it.

Presenter's Biography:

Dean Shrock, Ph D. is a licensed psychologist (PSY 18597) who specializes in the psychosocial care of people with chronic disease, and conducts classes and seminars about holistic approaches to assist their recovery. Dr. Shrock has been Director of Mind-Body Medicine for a physician management group of forty cancer centers, and has taught a wellness program, "Taking Control of Your Health," to their cancer patients and families for eleven years. This same approach can be used for various other health concerns, including chronic pain and fatigue, and fibromyalgia --- to get well or stay well. "Taking Control of Your Health" is offered currently as a six-part class series open to patients, family members, health professionals, and the general public.
