RVML is very pleased to present this special "sneak-preview" showing of the long-awaited feature film: The Celestine Prophecy.

Based on James Redfield's worldwide best-selling novel, The Celestine Prophecy is a spiritual adventure film chronicling the discovery of ancient scrolls in the rainforests of Peru. The prophecy and its nine key insights predict a worldwide awakening, arising within all religious traditions, that moves humanity toward a deeper experience of spirituality. The film features an international ensemble cast including Matthew Settle, Thomas Kretschmann, Sarah Wayne Callies, Annabeth Gish, Hector Elizondo, Joaquim de Almeida and Jurgen Prochnow.

When James Redfield authored The Celestine Prophecy, millions of readers passed it from hand to hand across America, discovering within its pages a life-affirming truth about synchronicity, intuition and personal destiny. It stayed on the New York Times bestsellers list for over three years, was translated into more than 40 languages, and influenced the world with some 14 million copies in print. Now just in time for the spiritual resurgence in America, the film adaptation of the runaway bestseller will be in theaters April 2006.

"Allowing groups to host special 'sneak previews' is a key part of our mission to get the word out about this movie and its message," states author/filmmaker James Redfield. "Because this was a book that so many people shared with their friends and family, passing it literally around the world, we wanted to create a community-feeling with the 'sneak previews' where people can share the movie experience."

Using an approach that is part adventure tale, part parable, and imbued with intriguing and exhilarating music, the film tells the story of John Woodson (Mathew Settle), whose life is at a crossroads. He is about to experience a dramatic and profound metamorphosis. Through a mysterious set of coincidences, he finds himself on an adventure to Peru in search of ancient scrolls, known as the Celestine Prophecy. Resistant at first, skeptical and unsure, John finds that with every step he takes, each person he encounters leads him to a new understanding. It is only in this letting go to a higher consciousness that he uncovers life's true purpose and his own destiny.

"It's impossible to overestimate the spiritual impact of The Celestine Prophecy. The movie version continues its mysterious influence, creating an actual model of this evolutionary awakening. The World will light up after you see it."
-Marianne Williamson, author "Return to Love"

"The Nine Insights":

- 1 -
We are discovering again that we live in a deeply mysterious world, full of sudden coincidences and synchronistic encounters that seem destined.

- 2 -
As more of us awaken to this mystery, we will create a completely new worldview - redefining the universe as energetic and sacred.

- 3 -
We will discover that everything around us, all matter, consists of and stems from a divine energy that we are beginning to see and understand.

- 4 -
From this perspective, we can see that humans have always felt insecure and disconnected from this sacred source, and have tried to take energy by dominating each other. This struggle is responsible for all human conflict.

- 5 -
The only solution is to cultivate a personal reconnection with the divine, a mystical transformation that fills us with unlimited energy and love, extends our perception of beauty, and lifts us into a Higher-Self Awareness.

- 6 -
In this awareness, we can release our own pattern of controlling, and discover a specific truth, a mission, we are here to share that helps evolve humanity toward this new level of reality.

- 7 -
In pursuit of this mission, we can discover an inner intuition that shows us where to go and what to do, and if we make only positive interpretations, brings a flow of coincidences that opens the doors for our mission to unfold.

- 8 -
When enough of us enter this evolutionary flow, always giving energy to the higher-self of everyone we meet, we will build a new culture where our bodies evolve to ever higher levels of energy and perception.

- 9 -
In this way, we participate in the long journey of evolution from the Big Bang to life's ultimate goal: to energize our bodies, generation by generation, until we walk into a heaven we can finally see.

This spiritually uplifting lecture will have you celebrating and powerfully contributing to the Spiritual Renaissance as modern life is being transformed worldwide, and people like you are doing their part in preparation for a millennium of world peace.

Some of the topics covered:

Cosmology & the Nature of the Universe, The Universal Presence of Life, The Nature of 'God' and Reality; of our Consciousness & the Consciousness of the Universe, The question of Good and Evil, The Meaning of Life, Life and Death, Heaven and Hell, Time and Eternity, Christ Consciousness & the Buddha Nature, Morphogenesis & the 'Mystery of Christ'

Rossum's "Universal Robots"
By Karel Kapek

Performacne Description:

Written in the 1920's and set in the distant future, this play coined our usage of the word "robots" in modern vocabulary. Helena Glory, the President's Daughter, visits the remote island where Rossum's Universal Robots are produced and distributed. On behalf of the Humanity League, she campaigns for better treatment and fair compensation for Robots. In the elapse of 10 years, we see the evolvement of Robot technology is balanced by the devolvement of humans to the point of 0 birth rate. In the eclipse of total Robot revolt we see the birth of a new life form, a new Adam and Eve emerge in the garden....

Performances are Sunday evenings April 9, 23, 30 and May 7th at 7pm. Readings take place at the Nuwandart Gallery 258 A St in Ashland.

Please call 840-1527 for more information.

Lecture: "Living the Divine Wisdom" ...a Unique Evening of Turkish Sufi Mysticism
With Sherif Baba

100% of donations will go to humanitarian projects in Turkey

Presentation Description:

Sherif Baba, an internationally recognized teacher, will share aspects of the mystical teachings of Sufism that focus on developing love, tolerance and wisdom in the human being.

You are invited to join our sheep skin circle for "sohbet" - mystical conversations where teachings are transmitted from teacher to student through storytelling, presence and sacred space. Come meet a rare soul who sparks the fire of Immeasurable Love through humorous interactive dialogue.

Come out from the circle of time
And into the circle of love
If you want a secret eye
Just shut your eyes
If you desire an embrace
Just open your arms
Taste a sweetness in your mouth
That was before honey or bee
Look! Here's a bargain:
Give one life and
Take a hundred!
--Rumi

Sherif Baba was born in Istanbul, Turkey. He began his religious training at the age of six in a school where he learned to memorize the Quran, Islam's holiest book. He continued his education at the age of 17 at a traditional Faith Mosque Medresse (Islamic seminary). By age 33, he felt the need for a larger perspective and found it in the spiritual teaching of Sufism.

Sherif Baba received intensive Sufi education in the Nakshibendi, Halveti, Kadiri, Bektashi, and Melami and Rifa'i-Marufi Sufi Orders in Turkey. Baba came to the United States in 1991 and makes his home in North Carolina where the Rifa'i-Maruf'i-Order of America is based. He regularly teaches throughout the United States, Canada, and Turkey. Each fall he is the host of the Annual Rumi Festival in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.

Gen-X Video & Discussion Series: Metaphysical Idea Forum for the Next Generation

Alternative dialogue for people 18-32 - EVERY THURSDAY 7-9pm

60-minute video or lecture presentation followed by interactive discussion.

FREE ADMISSION

Description:

Interesting people, fascinating information and extra-ordinary conversation in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. "The Truth is Out There"

Sacred Geometry - Alternative History - New Technology - Parapsychology - Divine Creativity - Mythology - UFOs - Alternative Energy - ESP - Meditation - Remote Viewing - Subtle Energies - Crop Circles

Metaphysics is beyond physics, referring to any phenomena associated with the non-physical realm, including the quantum forces of sub atomic physics and the supernatural.

"The more you know, the more there is to know!"

In this interactive forum, participants gain an ever-broadening understanding of being human while navigating the complexities of the greater reality. In contrast to a typical discussion forum, participants are encouraged to explore ideas from a metaphysical perspective, where no idea is too far-out!

Utilizing intellect and intuition, participants explore: What is our purpose for existence? Where did we come from? How do our souls come into being? What is the triune nature of mind?

This Week:

Video Elegant Universe Part 1 of 3 - "Einstein's Dream"

A Theory of Everything? Some physicists believe string theory may unify the forces of nature.

(An Excerpt from an article by Brian Greene, author of The Elegant Universe)

The fundamental particles of the universe that physicists have identified-electrons, neutrinos, quarks, and so on-are the "letters" of all matter. Just like their linguistic counterparts, they appear to have no further internal substructure. String theory proclaims otherwise. According to string theory, if we could examine these particles with even greater precision- a precision many orders of magnitude beyond our present technological capacity- we would find that each is not pointlike but instead consists of a tiny, one-dimensional loop. Like an infinitely thin rubber band, each particle contains a vibrating, oscillating, dancing filament that physicists have named a string.

Although it is by no means obvious, this simple replacement of point-particle material constituents with strings resolves the incompatibility between quantum mechanics and general relativity (which, as currently formulated, cannot both be right). String theory thereby unravels the central Gordian knot of contemporary theoretical physics. This is a tremendous achievement, but it is only part of the reason string theory has generated such excitement.

In Einstein's day, the strong and weak forces had not yet been discovered, but he found the existence of even two distinct forces- gravity and electromagnetism- deeply troubling. Einstein did not accept that nature is founded on such an extravagant design. This launched his 30-year voyage in search of the so-called unified field theory that he hoped would show that these two forces are really manifestations of one grand underlying principle. This quixotic quest isolated Einstein from the mainstream of physics, which, understandably, was far more excited about delving into the newly emerging framework of quantum mechanics. He wrote to a friend in the early 1940s, "I have become a lonely old chap who is mainly known because he doesn't wear socks and who is exhibited as a curiosity on special occasions."

Einstein was simply ahead of his time. More than half a century later, his dream of a unified theory has become the Holy Grail of modern physics. And a sizeable part of the physics and mathematics community is becoming increasingly convinced that string theory may provide the answer. From one principle- that everything at its most microscopic level consists of combinations of vibrating strands- string theory provides a single explanatory framework capable of encompassing all forces and all matter.

Rogue Valley Metaphysical Library, A Street, Ashland

Admission: $5 Guests, $4 Seniors 62+, $3 SONCGR Members

Lilith has a mythological history dating back to her earliest mention in Sumeria about 3000 BCE. Some modern astrologers are tracking the movements of one of her namesakes, Black Moon Lilith. The Black Moon Lilith is a point in space that is one of two focal points of the Moon's ecliptical path around the earth (the earth being the first).

In this talk Mary will be discussing the history of the Lilith archetype and considering her placement in the astrological horoscope. She will include real life stories that demonstrate this potent point in understanding the power inherent in the deep feminine. This is not a technically complicated talk, and is accessible to anyone with an interest in the subject.

Mary Plumb has been a student of astrology since the 1960s. She has had a private counseling practice since 1985 and has been on the staff of The Mountain Astrologer magazine since 1993. She has written many articles for the magazine including 8 parts (in the 12 part series) of TMA's popular Beginner's Series. Her most recently feature article was in the April/May 2005 issue, The Art of Relating: An Astrological Guide. She serves as Book Editor and web manager. She is available for private consultations or tutoring, in person in Ashland or via phone. mary@maryplumb.com or 541.488.3048.

Tomas Qubeck
Lecture: Love in Action- The Teachings of J. Krishnamurti & Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj- Two Sages of Our Time
By Tomas Qubeck

$3-5 Suggested donation
(Everyone welcome, no one turned away)

Presentation Description:

Drop, if just for a moment, the things of the world. Look through the eyes of God and watch as your life becomes Love in Action.

Actually your life already is love in action, no matter what you think of it. Thoughts are very limited. The understanding you can gain through them is valuable and yet very limited. Both Krishnamurti and Nisargadatta point to an understanding beyond words, or rather, before words arise and cloud it.

"To have no resistance, to have no barriers inwardly towards anything, to be really free, completely, from all the minor urges, compulsions, and demands, with all their little conflicts and hypocrisies, is to walk in life with open arms. And that evening, walking there on that wet sand, with the seagulls around you, you felt the extraordinary sense of open freedom and the great beauty of love which was not in you or outside you but everywhere." -J. Krishnamurti

"When the mind is free of its preoccupations, it becomes quiet. If you do not disturb this quiet and stay in it, you find that it is permeated with a light and a love you have never known, and yet you recognize it at once as your own nature." -Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj

This evening is dedicated to these two beautiful men who have greatly influenced my life and whose words point to the indefinable space in which we all realize that we truly are love in action. When we drop, if just for a moment, the things of the world, a passionate longing for immersion in the timeless presence begins to guide our every step.

Catherine J. Larkin
Lecture and Discussion: The Importance of Being Human
By Catherine J. Larkin

$3.00 - 15.00 suggested donnation.
(Everyone welcome, no one turned away)

Presentation Description:

Sages maintain that experiencing a human lifetime is a great opportunity. The Sufi tradition depicts the human challenge as one of integrating three souls: the animal, the human and the angelic. This strangely accords with Dante's vision in the Divine Comedy. So tonight we'll explore the great drama and saga of our human journey and the importance of embracing our humanity.

Presenter's Biography:

Catherine J. Larkin, M.A. has been a healer, teacher and astrologer since 1983, when she graduated from the Institute for Creation Centered Spirituality. Her articles on psychology and spirituality have been published in Conscious Choice magazine in Chicago. She was certified in Self Attunement in 1989 and this soul level energy work has evolved into planetary healing.

Catherine offers individual readings and attunement sessions. Her workshops, "Deepening into the World Soul" utilize meditations and constellations for collective healing.

KSKQ Radio Presents: Prometheus Radio Project: Take Back Your Radio Dial!

Time: 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m., afterwards, take a tour of the KSKQ studio upstairs.

This event is brought to you by KSKQ, 94.9 LP-FM, located in Ashland. http://www.kskq.org" Target="_blank">http://www.kskq.org

Description:

Representatives from the Prometheus Radio Project will be speaking about low powered FM radio, corporate media consolidation, and community broadcasting. Build your own community radio station and take back the air waves!

After the talk, please join us for an open house at the KSKQ studio, just around the corner and upstairs from the RVML in suite 6.

From April 23rd to May 15th, radio and media activists from Prometheus Radio Project and PCUN union organizers will join together to tour cities from northern California to Seattle, Washington to kick-off their tour for the upcoming barnraising in Woodburn, Oregon with the farmworkers organization, PCUN- Pineros y Campesinos del Noroeste (Northwest Treeplanters and Farmworkers United). They will be bringing tips about radio equipment, programming, and speaking about democratic media and recent station- building trips abroad. "This will also be a great opportunity to show support for the rights and dignity of the people who feed us all!" says Petri of Prometheus Radio

Prometheus' organizing tour in the Northwest will culminate with a "Low Power Radio Barnraising," conference, where radio activists and programmers from across the nation will gather to build a radio station over the course of a weekend. This summer, the PCUN barnraising conference will be in Woodburn, Oregon the weekend of August 18-20, 2006.

PCUN is Oregon's union of farmworkers, nursery, and reforestation workers, and Oregon's largest Latino organization. PCUN's fundamental goal is to empower farmworkers to understand and take action against systematic exploitation and all of its effects. In August, PCUN will expand its advocacy for the people and culture of Woodburn into the world of radio.

Prometheus workshops are different in every town. They nearly always include some history of the radio dial, an account of the pirate radio movement and the LPFM victory, an introduction to do-it-yourself radio engineering, a demonstration with a small transmitter, and an explanation about rules and procedures for applicants for radio stations.
