Lecture: "Birth Into Being"- Natural Birthing and the Conscious Birth Movement
By Elena Tonetti

$3.00 - 20.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome, no one turned away

Presentation Description:

We will watch the stunningly beautiful documentary about Conscious Birth that starts with Conscious Conception. And what it takes to prepare for it. It will include the episodes depicting the truth about c-section and circumcision. The best kept secret is no more! After watching this video you will never look at a pregnant woman the same!

After that we will talk about the correlation between specific characteristics of birth trauma and behavioral disorders in adults, which are responsible for the blocked life force: creativity and sexuality; and about the ways of harmonizing the cortex with the reptilian and the limbic systems of the brain in order to heal the birth trauma, so we can be all we intented to be.

Presenter's Biography:

Water sybolizes both life and healing. Elena Tonetti, a Russian born visionary, has worked closely with waterbirth pioneer, Igor Charkovsky since 1982. They have organized birth camps at the Black Sea where they delivered babies with the presence of wild dolphins in the open waters. Together, Igor and Elena launched a birth preparation program for pregnant couples, allowing them to experience a complication free delivery through reprogramming their negative limbic imprint with a beautiful, positive one and release of the pregnant women's own birth traumas. Waterbirth techniques evolved into a Conscious Birth Movement, creating a natural, supportive environment for the full program, which starts with pre-conceptional preparation, conscious conception, conscious pregnancy, trauma-free births and a profound post-partum program.

Also, since 1982 Elena Tonetti worked wholeheartedly with her late husband, Sergei Naumov, facilitating large business seminars called "Games", which were extremely effective in bringing economic change to the USSR. She also was simultaneously involved in "Citizen Diplomacy", an underground organization created with the purpose of putting an end to the Cold War.

Rossum's "Universal Robots"
By Karel Kapek

Performacne Description:

Written in the 1920's and set in the distant future, this play coined our usage of the word "robots" in modern vocabulary. Helena Glory, the President's Daughter, visits the remote island where Rossum's Universal Robots are produced and distributed. On behalf of the Humanity League, she campaigns for better treatment and fair compensation for Robots. In the elapse of 10 years, we see the evolvement of Robot technology is balanced by the devolvement of humans to the point of 0 birth rate. In the eclipse of total Robot revolt we see the birth of a new life form, a new Adam and Eve emerge in the garden....

Performances are Sunday evenings April 9, 23, 30 and May 7th at 7pm. Readings take place at the Nuwandart Gallery 258 A St in Ashland.

Please call 840-1527 for more information.

Catherine J. Larkin
Lecture and Discussion: Splitting the Atom of Our Own Being
By Catherine J. Larkin

$3.00 - 15.00 suggested donnation.
(Everyone welcome, no one turned away)

Presentation Description:

The atomic mushroom and it's power of destruction is an image of the modern era. We live under it's shadow, constantly presented with its implied question, do we have the wisdom to use such power wisely? Is it possible for the atom to be split in such a way that great creative power is released?

I can still remember the moment when I first read the phrase 'we must split the atom of our own being' and the strange thrill that it sent down my spine. Is it possible that love is the invincible power equal to this task? Please join me in considering the potential for good that resides within our very being.

Presenter's Biography:

Catherine J. Larkin, M.A. has been a healer, teacher and astrologer since 1983, when she graduated from the Institute for Creation Centered Spirituality. Her articles on psychology and spirituality have been published in Conscious Choice magazine in Chicago. She was certified in Self Attunement in 1989 and this soul level energy work has evolved into planetary healing.

Catherine offers individual readings and attunement sessions. Her workshops, "Deepening into the World Soul" utilize meditations and constellations for collective healing.

Lecture: Sex, Intimacy And The Spiritual Path
By Nando Raynolds

$3.00 - 20.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome, no one turned away

Presentation Description:

Do you want great sex, meaningful emotional connection and alignment of all this with your spiritual path? Why not go for it all?! Come explore how the skills that allow us to truly be open with others, to predictably co-create great sex and to be open to and connected with our higher power are related. Learn how to use the three kinds of emotional intimacy to boost the quality of your sexual experience. Discover how honoring your preferences in sex and other aspects of relating can connect you more deeply to yourself, others and your higher power. This presentation will primarily be an experiential exploration. Come with your partner or alone ready to learn and grow and enjoy the evening.

There are three primary spheres of relationship in our lives: with ourselves, with others and with our higher power. Emotional intimacy and openness with yourself allows you to be open to lasting spiritual experience. When we are closed or defensive with ourselves or others, this undermines our connection with the moment. Correcting this and being open requires feeling safe - and this requires that we take our fears and defensiveness seriously and address them.

Sex is an active negotiation among the participants that vividly displays challenges we have with intimacy. Fears, defensiveness and boredom in sex are symptoms of this. Use the power of intimate foreplay to make your sex life electric and exciting. Come learn some fun processes to try together at home!

Many spiritual traditions do not factor the psychological foundation of developing emotional intimacy with oneself and others and the importance of fulfilling sex into their practices. As a consequence, it is common to meet people on the spiritual path who are critical of themselves and who have relationship challenges with others. And traditions that support or require celibacy are common. Spirituality for everyday humans must include our desires for emotional intimacy and great sex. As it turns out, by following these desires we can also move closer to our higher power and the present moment.

Presenter's Biography:

Astrology in Ashland/SONCGR* Present:
"Searching for 2012: Crossing the Galactic Equator"
A talk by local astrologer Marty Dixon

$5.00 General, $4 .00Seniors 62+, $3.00 NCGR Members

Presentation Description:

This talk will be Part 1 of an on-going discussion of the symbolism linked to the date of 12/21/2012. What is the message behind the Winter Solstice of 2012, when our Sun conjuncts the Center of our Galaxy? Is it the end of the world, or merely a stepping-off point? Does this solstice represent the end of time, or merely the end of time as we know it? Does this event herald the beginning of the next Golden Age? In any case, we have come to the plateau stage in our knowledge of the end of the Mayan Calendar, which predicted this Galactic Alignment over 2,000 years ago. Roughly 30 years ago the Galactic Center was determined to be at 26 degrees Sagittarius.

The buzz-word among Astronomers, Astrologers and Mayan calendar scholars alike, was 0 point. Since that time, all of the outer planets have transited the Galactic Center, but, now with Pluto traversing the 0 point, suddenly all eyes are upon this mark on the horizon. And since the occurrence takes 26,000 years to generate, the spiritual community would like to know, what exactly does the Galactic Return mean?

Presenter's Biography:

Marty Dixon is a "Visionary Astrologer" who has been practicing a visual method of astrological counseling for 17 years. She has studied "evolutionary Astrology" with Jeffery Wolf Green and "Visual Astrology" with Bernadette Brady and employs both of their techniques. She has taught beginning Astrology and Metaphysics at the Experimental College at UC Davis and has been presenting talks at Astrology in Ashland meetings for 4 years. She is a columnist for the "Sedona Journal" and teaches Shamanic journeying to her students and clients.

Jean-Claude Koven is one of those rare, independent, and adventurous free spirits who successfully combines practical enterprise and cosmic mystery. He is a highly-successful entrepreneur who has launched more than a dozen business ventures over the course of four decades, during which time he studied with spiritual masters and led awareness-expanding workshops on six continents.

Jean-Claude's abiding love of the mystery of Creation sent him around the world on a relentless quest to learn from a host of extraordinary masters-both on and beyond this plane of existence. What he saw and realized along the way informs his unique perspective and imbues his writing with uncommon love, power, and wisdom. Jean-Claude speaks for the millions of Lightworkers who have come to this planet to help evolve the consciousness of its people.

With startling clarity and power, Jean-Claude's words and wisdom awaken the dormant memories hidden deep within each of us. Suddenly, we remember our true self and our true purpose-and with such certainty that we never fall asleep again!

Jean-Claude lives in Rancho Mirage, California with his wife, Arianne, and Zeus - a fifteen-inch-high dog of undetermined pedigree that sits in constant meditation on his desk, offering support and unconditional love . . . as only a stuffed animal can.

The Volunteers and Staff of Rogue Valley Metaphysical
Library & Event Center are pleased to present:

"Truth Is All That Matters"- A Practical Introduction to Self-Inquiry
An Evening with John Sherman

Location: First United Methodist Church, Wesley Hall - 165 N. Main St. @ Laurel in Ashland (across from Briscoe Arts Center).

Admission: $10.00 General, $5.00 Students suggested donation at the door. No one turned away.

Presentation Description:

"I come here to offer to you what I received from my teacher, Gangaji, which is the possibility in this life, in this moment, to know directly the actual truth of what you are, and to discover yourself to be, already and forever, all that you have ever wanted."- John Sherman

John will show you how to use your own inherent intelligence and innocent curiosity to see directly, in this moment, the naked reality of what you are. In his meetings with people all over the country, John sheds a powerful light onto Sri Ramana Maharshi's teachings, and guides those who come to see him into deeper skillfulness and fulfillment in their own investigation. Being with John is an opportunity to finally get to the core of the spiritual quest.

These meetings are called meetings in satsang, a Sanskrit word that loosely means "in association with truth." John speaks from his experience, listens to reports, and answers questions. All are welcome, with no regard for religious and spiritual beliefs and practices. Meetings with John are entirely supported by donations.

Presenter's Biography:

In June of 1994, in a federal prison in Colorado, John found himself face to face with Gangaji, a well-known American spiritual teacher, whose transmission of the truth of unconditional peace and freedom has touched and transformed the lives of thousands of men and women around the world. In that meeting, John discovered himself to be eternally and unconditionally free.

Since 1999, with Gangaji's blessing and encouragement, John meets with people who are deeply called to investigate, for themselves, the simple truth of their being.
John is the author of Meeting Ramana Maharshi, Conversations with John Sherman, published in 2004 as an ebook, by SilentHeart Press. He is currently working on a book soon to be published, entitled Truth Is All That Matters.

Lecture: Spirituality and Sustainability
By Scott McGuire

$3-5 Donation requested

Presentation Description:

Why are you alive at this time? What is your purpose upon this planet at the end of the Oil Empire? What is your contribution to the emerging community of those who consciously choose to live sustainably? Exploring the true nature of personal power in a culture of over-consumptive excess will be a theme we all must face with our loved ones as we encounter 1) the wall of Peak Oil 2) the End Times 3) the Golden Age and 4) all of the above.

How do we reconcile these seemingly contradictory views of our near future? How do we balance living in love and moving through our fears amidst growing change and instability? These are spiritual questions, as well as political and ethical problems we all must face.

When I was an organic farmer, I was convinced that sustainable agriculture was something farmers had to do. Now I'm quite sure it will also be something that people do. Expecting to be fed by farmers "somewhere" is part of the package of responsibility we delegate to "others". In self-help jargon, this is called "giving your power away", yet reclaiming one's power is seldom framed as the ability to feed oneself. Sustainable agriculture means we will be fed by ourselves, and by those nearest to hearth and home, our neighbors, and yes, farmers, who will become our friends. Or will our friends become farmers?

Scott McGuire will address these topics and more at his talk on Spirituality and Sustainability, and will serve as an introduction to his series of classes offered throughout the summer. See www.whitesagegardens.com for more details.

BIOGRAPHY: Scott McGuire has been a gardener and landscaper in southern Oregon for the past 20 years. A graduate of the Farm and Garden Project at UC Santa Cruz, Scott has been an organic farmer in Oregon, California, Virginia and New York. He has taught composting for the Master Gardeners' Program, as well as serving as a design consultant for co-creative gardeners at the Findhorn community in Scotland.

Tomas Qubeck
"Talks with Tomas"
With Tomas Qubeck

$3.00 - 10.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome, no one turned away

Description:

Can your mind, your brain, your brain cells, change completely the way they function? Can they stop their incessant activity of comparing, referring to past events, measuring everything? Can their activity be only activated when needed for practical functioning and otherwise leave the mind without thought, empty, with great space? And is this space, should it come about, totally unmotivated and free of any control, the space that then allows for the unnamable to enter into our daily lives?

The speaker ponders these and other questions related to the possibility of living a completely different life, untouched by the conditioning of the millennia, a life completely free of conflict and violence of any kind. He draws upon first hand understanding of the teachings of Lao Tzu, Patanjali, Ramana Maharshi, Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj, Krishnamurti and others.

Each evening deals with a central theme, such as: the ending of time; innocence and passion; can one live completely without problems; can the mind relinquish control voluntarily; the innocent mind in daily life; silence without motive; the ending of authority; choiceless observation.

Presenter's Biography:

Tomas Qubeck lives on the banks of the Wagner Creek in Talent with his wife Alia. When he isn't at the front desk of the Columbia Hotel in Ashland, he works as a Personal Life Coach who assists his clients to find their own wisdom and clarity for their life. He can often be found after hours in "Villa Oblivion", the cabin on the creek, or on the nearby hillsides, immersing himself in the play of consciousness.

Lecture and Discussion: "Aligning with the World Tree"- The Growing Momentum for the Evolution of Consciousness
By Catherine J. Larkin

$3.00 - 15.00 suggested donnation.
(Everyone welcome, no one turned away)

Presentation Description:

Many culture's myths speak of the World Tree or the Tree of Knowledge. This image evokes a deep response from the human soul. Yet how is our modern mind to understand its meaning? Through the work of Carl J. Calleman, author of The Mayan Calender and the Transformation of Consciousness, some exciting insights on this emerge.

According to the Mayan Calender this Saturday, May 27th is the midpoint of the 4th Night of the Galactic Underworld. We will explore what (in the world!) this means and how it facilitates cooperating with the evolutionary impulse at this time.

A follow-up workshop on May 27 will further deepen our alignment.

The Deeper Truth Behind the DaVinci Code - The Divine Feminine
With Ann Marie Wright

Cost: $5.00 suggested donation

Presentation Description:

Ann Marie will be speaking to the significance of the DaVinci Code, the evolution of spirituality, and the underlying connection to divine feminine presence. Our world is no longer about patriarchal rule, or the duality of the religious order and rules made by man and woman. The truth is inside. By protecting Magdalene, 'The Rose', the Knights Templar were carrying on the ancient tradition of honoring the Divine Feminine. We are in the Age of Aquarius now, which represents water, in turn representing the feminine. Both are about flow - connecting the mind, body and spirit. This is the new paradigm...calming the mind, soothing the body, and breathing in Spirit.

Experience Ann Marie's work with her introductory workshops...

Saturday, May 20th, 2-6 pm, Introductory Workshop for Women, Reclaiming Women's Power, $45, or $80 for Sat & Sun. Learn to dissolve blocks to intimacy, expand capacity to receive & manifest, increase sexual creative energy, and trust the body's wisdom.

Sunday, May 21st, 10 -1 pm, Introductory Workshop for Men, Trusting Divine Masculine Power, $45, or $80 for Sat & Sun. Connect your sexuality to your spirituality. Uncover the sacred key to true freedom. Transform your fear into courage, and your separation into love. Find out what a real woman really wants.

Sunday, May 21st, 3-6 pm, Introductory Workshop for Women & Men, Authentic Sensual Communication, $40 each, $75 per couple. Increase the passion in your life, & fulfill your true heart's desire by living with purpose and meaning. Create conscious relationships.

Continue this meaningful work with Ann Marie in follow up weekend retreats in Ashland....

May 26, 27, 28, Women's Retreat, Return to Women's Intimacy, Relax, rejuvenate, expand. Experience the sacred journey of living your deep feminine wisdom.

June 2, 3, 4, Men & Women's Retreat, Authentic Sensual Communication, Deepen the work of creating more intimacy in your relationship, and speaking and living your truth by remaining consciously present

Presenter's Biography:

Ann Marie is a spiritual teacher, Tantric counselor, and Aliveness coach. She teaches Tantra workshops internationally, and has had twelve years of training in Tantric and healing work. Her studies have taken her to many ashrams including 6 months in a Tantric ashram in India, where she learned to focus on expanding her ability to "be" the love she was seeking. Ann Marie has guided thousands of women, men, and couples to live more authentically by using the innocence and delight of sensual energy dissolving the blocks to intimacy, and returning to love.

Personal sessions with Ann Marie also available for intimate relating, deep relaxation, and awareness techniques that can be used day to day. (for men, women & couples)

This Week: Lecture presentation by John Palombo: Attunement- A Sacred Healing Art and Spiritual Practice

Description:

Attunement describes a state of being, a spiritual discipline and a way of healing with life energy. Attunement is a path to harmonization or Union with one's Higher Self or Source. Source is usually defined as Universal Intelligence or God. Attunement is a non-touch approach to releasing a radiant current of blessing, primarily through the hands. It recognizes the endocrine system as an essential portal through which this energy is received. Attunement engenders a vivid, immediate heightening of the life current within the individual and beyond. A deep sense of peace and healing often accompany the Attunement experience. Attunements have been shared since 1929.

Attunement is a humbling practice by both the receiver and the giver. We take responsibility for our own creative and destructive energies insofar as we take responsibility for being the ones who are perpetually creating the world around us. But the attunement field is a current that moves THROUGH us all. It is not to be taken credit or gratitude for by any one person. We say that we may "give" an attunement but we are actually sharing in an open channel to the One to invite the healing energy to move as it will by its own will. It can be shared by anyone with anyone who is willing to yield to the spirit.

Presenter's Biography:

John Palombo has been studying the art of attunement since his childhood, experiencing it since birth. He focused his studies with the Attunement Practitioners Guild in Colorado as well as in California where he was certified as an attunement practitioner. He believes in attunement as a way of moment to moment living as well as a concentrated healing practice that can launch the giver and the receiver into a vast cosmic journey that will go as far as one is willing to let go.
