Lecture: The Path to Breakthrough Energy Technologies: Is Open Sourcing the Answer?
By Joel Garbon

$5.00 - 20.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome, no one turned away

Presentation Description:

This is a presentation by the President of The New Energy Movement (NEM), a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to facilitating the advent of a global economy and sustainable civilization based on advanced clean energy technologies.
Joel Garbon and a team of dedicated colleagues have examined the historic obstacles that have blocked the introduction of breakthrough clean energy technologies to the public domain. One potential approach for new energy inventors is the open sourcing of their technologies to short circuit the typical obstructions that have plagued this field. Joel presents a compelling analysis of the rationale behind open sourcing and challenges the audience to consider whether this approach provides the secret to launching humanity into the new energy era.

Garbon, with input from seasoned veterans of the new energy field, has quietly authored an historic piece of draft legislation calling for serious and urgent federal support for the research and development of advanced clean energy technologies. If successfully implemented, a whole new era becomes possible for not just the United States, but humanity at large. We can envision the possibilities of a world of abundance and peace for all peoples, a vibrant and healthy global ecosystem, a planet restored to balance and harmony. We have the opportunity to put our pressing global problems. including global warming, environmental degradation, resource wars, and poverty in the rearview mirror.

The proposed legislation, first introduced to members of Congress in early 2007, provides the blueprint. Would our nation's citizens be willing to invest less than $8 per person per year to launch the new energy renaissance?

Come take an inside look at the promise of new energy technology and how you can help usher in a new energy revolution!

Presenter's Biography:

Joel Garbon received a B.S in Applied Science from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio in 1982, and has worked his entire professional career as a consultant to the paper, chemical, and water treatment industries. He has consulted with dozens of large and small companies in North and South America and is a highly regarded speaker and educator within these industries, regularly instructing classes of engineers.

Specific to the energy field, Joel currently serves as President of The New Energy Movement, and is a founding member of New Energy Congress, which maintains a continuously updated and publicly viewable database of the "Top 100" most promising breakthrough energy technologies. Joel has relationships with many organizations which promote responsible stewardship of earth's resources and which support progressive sustainable technologies for advancement of human civilization. He has been a featured speaker on numerous television and radio programs and at conferences and civic gatherings, making the appeal for a concurrent evolution in human consciousness and energy technology to address our pressing global challenges.

He is the author of an historic legislative draft titled "Energy Innovation Act of 2007" which is intended for introduction as a Congressional bill in 2007. The legislation's provisions call for urgent and serious federal support for research and development of breakthrough energy technologies.

DOMINIC ALLAMANO is a passionate and potent voice of the emerging visionary generation, inspiring others to shine their light brightly by boldly and humbly shining his. Since his late teens, when he began to see clearly following life altering physical trauma, he has focused his energies in two interrelated realms. The first is the realms of experiential education and explorations of the embodiment of consciousness, while the second is in a deep exploration of the sociological and systemic elements of the dominant world culture. The merging of these two realms has allowed him to perceive many of the key patterns and dynamics that define today's world and hold the promise for tomorrow's.

He feels called to be as a midwife to the emerging culture, assisting both in its birth and development as well as in the navigation of the unforeseen consequences of humanity's past choices, which are defining the context for that emergence. Through extensive travels and speaking around the Pacific Northwest he has aligned with an inspired network of allies with whom he is crafting new paradigm networks and tools like the WorldCrafter's Network (http://www.worldcrafters.org) and CultureSeed (http://www.cultureseed.org) to support the emergence of this new culture.

Lecture: Introduction to Vastu- The Ancient Vedic Science of Creation
By Ron Quinn

$5.00 - 20.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome, no one turned away

Vaastu is the ancient and highly evolved spiritual science of architecture, art, sculpture, music, dance, poetry, and empowered language. Vastu/Vaastu is the magic of inner creation at it's highest and best. Through this magic we are empowered to reach the inner depths and heights of our own creativity. Although this science has been kept sacred and intact through the Sthapati lineage of India for millennia, it was known and practiced worldwide prior to the fall of Lemuria and Atlantis. Through the musical science of mathematics and geometry, Vaastu teaches us how to bring healing, inspiring, and transformative effects in very specific ways into our art, architecture, poetry, music, dance, and, indeed into all of our creations.

Through these highly evolved principles we can create musical symphonies both visual and aural which are designed to consciously heal, instruct, enlighten, etc. All of the optimal experiences which we humans desire, both materially and spiritually may be supported into manifestation and personal experience through these principles.

Simple applications of art, jewelry, furniture, sculpture, and building design are capable through Vaastu of becoming living, vibrant energies which support the optimal potential of the humans they serve, of the earth, and of all life. Vaastu also contains the secrets of empowered language through written, spoken, and telepathic expression. The full practice of the Vaastu principles simultaneously unites the inner and outer and terrestrial and celestial worlds, multi-dimensionally. This is its purpose.

The basics of Vaastu are simple. Anyone, even a child, can learn to practice these basic, yet powerful techniques. Vaastu is neither cultural nor religious: it is a profound universal, timeless, and fully evolved spiritual science. The full science is so vast that it can be studied and comprehended for a lifetime and still discover that there is much more. Vaastu is the ultimate science of Consciousness, itself, from the universal Source level of reality, and how it manifests itself through light and sound into visual and aural forms. The full comprehension of Vaastu enables the student to become master of both time and space.

This knowledge includes the understanding of inner transformation and ascension from death into eternal life. Vaastu reminds us that we are spiritual beings and that spirit is the substance or intelligence which incarnates through space and time. Through Vaastu we understand our own potential to create in harmony with universal harmonic energies.

Vaastu utilizes the universal energy grid of time and space for all human creations. A building or picture or poem created with this understanding becomes a living and vibrant expression of spirit. A true Vaastu building has remarkable potential for healing and balancing the human mind, body, heart, and soul. This kind of structure becomes a clear conduit of expression between all levels of being.

Through these means the inner harmony and well being of mind, spirit, and body are restored, even on a cellular level. Because a Vaastu building reconnects our inner being with the natural and spiritual environments, it contains the resonance to assist us in achieving our desires and goals in both the physical and spiritual worlds. In brief, Vastu/Vaastu is the science of universal creation at all levels and in all dimensions of reality.

Through it's principles, it is said that we become cosmic creators in harmony with the One Creator. Thus the practitioner of the Vaastu science is called "Vishwakarma" which means the "Creator of the universe".

Presenter's Biography:

Ronald Neil Quinn is one of only a few certified Vaastu builders in America who have trained directly with India's most prominent Vaastu Architect, Dr. V. Ganapati Sthapati. Based in western Colorado, he is now offering complete design/construction services for Vaastu Homes to prospective clients anywhere who desire a personal residence that nurtures both body and soul. He also offers Vaastu design, planning, consultation, and construction management services for offices, factories, churches, schools, hospitals, hotels, restaurants, all businesses, apartment complexes, sacred centers, healing centers, pyramids, temples, and town and community planning.

Ron grew up on a small farm in the shadow of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Early in life he formed a deep and lasting intuitive/spiritual relationship with nature. Ron's career has been primarily in carpentry, building construction and building design. He has also studied with world class leaders in alternative healing and the spiritual sciences. He is a father, writer, artist, and teacher. His greatest human supporter is Bonnie, his best friend and mate for more than 30 years. Vaastu is the culmination of his life's vision and career.

Special Encore Presentation: At Risk- Ashland's Water
("THIRST" Documentary Video and Discussion)
Hosted by Art Bullock, AshlandConstitution.org

Admission: $5.00 - $20.00 suggested contribution, no one turned away.

Event Description:

The highly acclaimed documentary Thirst shows what happens when cities privatize their water supply or water works. Thirst tells the stories of Cochabamba, Bolivia and Stockton, California, asking the key question: Is water a human right, or a commodity to be bought and sold in the global marketplace?

A handful of multinational corporations are buying water systems worldwide as a business strategy. Cities pressed for revenue sell their water systems and transfer management and/or control of municipal water to these corporations. This informative movie shows the politics and power of water. It will change how you think about water and city government.

We'll explore how these dynamics affect Ashland following the video.

More information: http://www.AshlandConstitution.org and http://groups.yahoo.com/group/OfThePeople

Video Description:

Is water part of a shared "commons", a human right for all people? Or is it a commodity to be bought, sold, and traded in a global marketplace? THIRST tells the stories of communities in Bolivia, India, and the United States that are asking these fundamental questions, as water becomes the most valuable global resource of the 21st Century.

A character-driven documentary with no narration, THIRST reveals how the debate over water rights between communities and corporations can serve as a catalyst for explosive and steadfast resistance to globalization.

Reviews:

"THIRST is a provocative portrayal in stark human terms of current battles over water privatization. Communities rise in protest; corporate interests seem to turn a deaf ear. Can there be a middle ground? THIRST provides a passionate jumping off point for a debate that is just beginning." Tom Graff, Environmental Defense

"THIRST brilliantly dramatizes a potential threat of great enormity. A careful and deeply disturbing film about the threat to human safety and survival worldwide by corporate attempts to privatize the earth's water supplies." Norris Hundley, author, The Great Thirst and Professor Emeritus of History, UCLA

"A moving and inspiring film about one of the biggest water issues of our day...it sounds a clarion call for citizens and governments to reaffirm that water is a public trust, not a commodity to be exploited for private profit. I hope THIRST is viewed widely, discussed at town meetings and in legislative debates, and that it energizes citizen involvement in water decisions. A powerful -- and needed -- film." Sandra Postel, Director, Global Water Policy Project

"Do you know who controls your water? You'd better find out. As this powerful film shows, it may already be a private corporation run from afar. THIRST challenges apathy and ignorance about our most precious resource and shows how every citizen's voice can, indeed must, make a difference. See this film, and be inspired to act." Peter H. Gleick, 2003 MacArthur Fellow and author, The World's Water

"THIRST is a remarkable film. The looming freshwater crisis is the greatest environmental and human rights crisis of our time. Not surprisingly, the move is on by powerful corporations and governments to commodify and cartelize the world's water supplies for power and profit. THIRST is the story of this assault and the fight to stop it." Maude Barlow, National Chair, Council of Canadians and Co-author, with Tony Clarke, Blue Gold, The Fight to Stop Corporate Theft of the World's Water

"Beautiful and engaging..." Carl Pope, Sierra Club Executive Director

"THIRST is an important and timely film, and vividly illustrates the human costs of commodifying a most basic human right -- water. From women in India struggling to care for their families in the absence of fresh water and adequate sanitation to the people of Stockton, California, fighting to maintain control over their water resources, THIRST tells a powerful story of resistance and survival." California State Senator Liz Figueroa (D, Fremont) Chair, Select Committee on International Trade Policy Chair

"THIRST beautifully shows how the labor movement can work closely with community groups and the environmental movement to defend public jobs and the public trust. Struggles for control of water could become the focus for creative new coalitions to reverse the tide of privatization." Peter Olney, Institute for Labor and Employment, University of California

"THIRST is a transformative experience. As patrons left the theater, it was clear that the entertainment they had witnessed had progressed to education, visual beauty to substantive understanding. They had been fulfilled and motivated, their minds engaged and expanded. Despite the fact that the issues raised often inflame the passions, audience members felt they had grown without rancor, moved forward without leaving any players or arguments behind." Professor Robert Benedetti, Executive Director, Jacoby Center for Regional and Community Studies, University of the Pacific

"THIRST documents how power, politics and money all combine in the raging international debate about water policy. The underlying issues of community versus corporate control are remarkably similar whether in India or the United States. The control of water may be responsible for more political, economic and even military clashes in the 21st century than was oil in the 20th." Congressman George Miller (D-7, California) Former Chair, House Committee on Natural Resources

"Surprisingly captivating...unlike so many other documentaries about multinationals -- documentaries that tend to be overbearingly supercilious and contemptuous -- THIRST simply lets the story tell itself...THIRST is like a message in a bottle sent from the future. It tells the beginning of what could be one of the major political and economic issues to shape the next century. Don't say they didn't warn you." Phil Busse--The Portland Mercury

"THIRST gives you dry mouth." Matthew Hirsch, San Francisco Bay Guardian

"Another smart bottom-to-top take on complexly related racial, economic, legislative, and individual issues. The crux here: can water access remain 'part of the global commons' everyone should have free access to, or is it doomed to become an economic commodity bought and sold like any other?...This important and engrossing film provides a spur to activism that no one should ignore, unless they're rich enough in obliviousness to propose, 'Let them drink sake.'" Dennis Harvey, San Francisco Bay Guardian

"By showing how activists in Stockton, Cochabamba and India are all...thinking globally but acting locally, Snitow and Kaufman give us a provocative look at the current and coming water wars...After seeing THIRST it will be hard to ever take water for granted." Jonathan Curiel, San Francisco Chronicle

"A groundbreaking and provocative new film about the rush to privatize what the filmmakers rightly define as the very essence of life." Silja J.A. Talvi, AlterNet

"THIRST insightfully and thoroughly explores the contentious issues surrounding water privatization, showing us that it's not merely a Third World concern but a dark and growing trend right here in our own backyard." Shannon Abel, HOT DOCS Canadian International Documentary Festival

"A compelling study of corporate greed, exploitation of the disadvantaged, and volatile uprising among civic-minded protestors demanding equal voice in a controversial issue...A valuable tool for awareness and activism, especially in water rich communities that could become the next battleground for the public's right to water, THIRST deserves to be seen by all who drink, flush, and cook with life's most essential element. Highly recommended." Video Librarian

Margaret Stevens
Lecture: Seicho No Ie ("Truth of Life")
By Margaret Stevens

$5.00 - 20.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome, no one turned away

Presentation Description:

We are all children of God; spiritual beings. When we come to this realization, all delusions and their negative manifestations disappear and we naturally experience perfect health, love, harmony and abundance.

Power of the word: Words create our spiritual universe. What we think and say has a profound effect on our lives. We believe that prayer, words of love, and praise nourish our souls and bring out the indwelling divinity within each one of us.

Oneness of all religions: Seicho No Ie (Truth of Life) philosophy embraces all religions, races and creeds. It incorporates the teachings of Christianity, Buddhism and Shintoism and emphasizes that all religions emanate from the One Universal God We encourage members to maintain their original beliefs and do not seek to replace any religion. Seicho No Ie is intended to enhance what one has already learned and to shed additional light on the individual's path so that he may progress more rapidly to spiritual fulfillment.

Reconciliation and perfect harmony: Since our environment is a reflection of our thoughts, our inner perfection cannot be expressed if we possess discordant feelings. We must become reconciled with everyone and everything in order to have genuine peace and happiness. We are not truly reconciled until we are grateful; therefore we are taught to be grateful to all people and all things.

Presenter's Biography:

At 10 years of age I was badly injured in a fall from a high porch and spent the next 3 years in bed, with several serious operations on my damaged right leg. I attended Junior High School and High School while walking on crutches, getting around the campus in a wheel chair. After more surgery I was finally able to walk, with pain and limitations.

I was married in 1944 to an remarkable man, in the Army when we met and married, later was first flutist with the Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestra and head of the Wind and Percussion Dept. at USC in Los Angeles. Since it had been discovered, at a very young age, that I had a voice that later developed into quite a rather remarkable coloratura soprano, I would have pursued a musical career except for the severe physical limitations.

My interest in spiritual studies began in early marriage. Three wonderful children filled life with much joy: Rodger, David and Ann. After ministerial training that took me several years to achieve, I was ordained by Dr. Raymond Holliwell, for many years the President of the International New Thought Alliance. He became my mentor, my inspiration, and the embodiment of all that I admired in a spiritual giant. I became part of the INTA and for many years, traveled with Dr. Holliwell to every continent (except Australia), to South Africa 7 times where we helped start several New Thought Churches. There were many trips to Great Britain and Europe, several to Egypt, India, Japan.

Meantime, I had been chosen to be senior minister of the beautiful Santa Anita Church in Arcadia Calif, and was in that position for 24 yrs. In addition to the full job of ministry, I was also Director of the Barnhart School, a day school affiliated with the church, now a tally accredited and very much in demand school; grades K-8. I founded the Santa Anita Center for Ministerial Studies, and at my departure as minister, we had graduated 86 ministerial students who now serve in many parts of the world. I also started the Association for Independent Ministers (AIM) which functioned as a support and inspiration group for more than 40 members. I resigned from that wonderfully full and rich life in 1989 after discovering that I had breast cancer, underwent a mastectomy, and felt that my useful days as a minister had come to a close.

At that time, I moved alone to Ashland, Oregon, having found it to be a magical place of great spiritual inspiration, a culturally superb town with so much great music, superb theater productions, many spiritual giants whose books and works I had admired for years. During that time I was temporary minister of the Unity Church for some months, then started my own church, The Center For Positive Living, which existed for about five years, very successfully. When my son, Rodger, also an ordained New Thought minister who had helped me so much in the work, was sent to Texas to prison ( a whole story in itself - to be found in our book Families of the Jailed, by Margaret and Rodger Stevens, published and endorsed by friend, Neale Donald Walsch) I did not have the strength to continue alone, so the work was closed down.

I now live on 2 1/2 acres out in me outskirts of town, on a lovely property that my daughter, Ann purchased when she came from her home in Hawaii 10 years ago and decided that I needed help. I live in a darling 3 bedroom home on her property, with wonderful views, peaceful hills surrounding us; I consider it heaven on earth.

During my long lifetime, I wrote many books, some of which I cannot even remember. These are a few of them, including 4 children's books:

-Stepping Stones for Little Feet
-Prosperity is God's Idea
-Jubilation on the Journey (a compilation of the articles I wrote for the local newspaper for several years)
-You Cannot Die (a small but apparently very helpful little book that has helped many friends at their times of separation from loved ones.)

Now, at age 87, in relatively good health and with the determination to live the rest of my life in service to people who can benefit by the love, compassion, generosity and services I can offer, I am embarking on the new path of Seicho No Ie, which has, just in the past few months, enriched, blessed, improved my life in every possible way.

FREE ADMISSION

Presentation Description:

Come learn about Reconnective Healing, it's origins and how it is unique to other healing practices.

Reconnective Healing is not just physical, not just mental, not just emotional- yet instead goes beyond that to bring you healing that includes the evolution of your very Being and Essence. Vastly different than Reiki, Johrei, Jin Shin, Qi Gong or any healing "technique" ever encountered.

These highly palpable energies are initiated during your sessions, and continue working with you long after you've left your Reconnective Healing session.

Allow yourself to experience expectancy without expectation. The healing that's most appropriate for you is the one you will receive.

Sandra is also trained to administer The Reconnection to bring in "new" axiatonal lines.

Presenter's Biography:

Lecture: "The Silent Gospel" - The Science of Divinity
By James Barrett

$5.00 - 20.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome, no one turned away

Presentation Description:

The Silent Gospel refers to the coded testament embedded within the ancient burial cloth known as The Shroud of Turin, a singularly unique object that has confounded the scientific community for nearly 30 years. It is a message left for these times, for only now do we have the technical sophistication to explore the richness of the mysteries it holds. By reviewing the data gathered over many years, we slowly reveal the encoded meaning left by its creator.

It was not until 1898 that the new science of photography revealed the positive image of the face, beginning the scientific phase of exploration. In 1973, 1976, and 1978, several leading scientists began the collection of data and offered insight to the creation of the image and clues to its creator. Their conclusions and mounting data spurred others to continue the scientific investigations. The "collective evidence" has led to startling conclusions, ones that stretch Western Science past the event horizon of our current paradigm.

After years of extensive research into the science done on the Shroud and into the topic of Human Potentiality, the message left within the silent image is decoded by bridging Eastern and Western philosophies and their sciences, specifically the Buddhist Bönpo Rainbow Body or Body of Light attainment. At the heart of all the technical data lies a basic truth about the power and beauty of the compassionate heart, the value of Heart Intelligence in making ones perceived reality better. Distilled, it points to the causal impulse moving the Evolution of Consciousness occurring at this time on the planet. A moment in time pointing to a "phase transition" of form, which ancient mystical traditions call the Rainbow Body, The Golden Body, The Wisdom Body or simply the Body of Light. It is understood as the attainment of the Kingdom of Light and is a reclaiming of the status Son/Daughter of God; a conscious co-creator fully realized. It's the transition of our species to Homo luminous.

The mystery surrounding the creation of the Shroud Image and the relating anomalous characteristics found within those ancient fibers is one of the biggest unsolved mysteries on the planet. It rivals the Great Pyramid in Egypt and is pushing science and physics into uncharted realms of exploration. The science being generated by exploring the cloth is generating a new paradigm and radically shifting our perception of what is real, as well as what is possible. The science is adding weight to the message at the core of the foundation of all spiritual traditions.

Presenter's Biography:

James Andrew Barrett is a student of religious and mystical traditions, heart intelligence researcher, author and lecturer, whose company helped launch the idea of providing biofeedback tools to witness the value of "Internal Heart Coherence." From 2000 to the present, he has researched, written and lectured on the subject of "Human Potentiality." His recent release of The Silent Gospel: The Science of Divinity - The Creation of the Shroud of Turin, is a result of many years of researching the power and beauty of the compassionate heart. In his book, he marries Eastern and Western Science to decipher the embedded testament left in the ancient cloth known as the Shroud of Turin. Barrett shows how it is a Silent Gospel that ultimately illuminates the subject of Ascension and the Nature of Reality.

Facilitators' Biography:

Lecture: Energy Medicine and the SCIO
By Antera

Free Admission

Presentation Description:

This is a presentation about our subtle energy bodies and how energy medicine works, as well as a live demonstration of the SCIO. Our physical bodies are constantly interacting with our emotions, thoughts, and spiritual energies, in highly complex and fascinating ways. The SCIO (Scientific Consciousness Interface Operating System) is a state-of-the-art quantum biofeedback system that not only assesses stress and energetic imbalances on all levels, but can then feed back into your system frequencies needed to correct the energy that is blocked or damaged. It tests for your unconscious stress reaction to over 9000 items, including toxins, nutrients, diseases, pathogens, emotions, chakras, organs, meridians, pollution, and much more. The SCIO detects and corrects stress patterns in the subtle energy bodies that have either already become crystallized into the physical body or may manifest in the future if they remain unchanged.

Presenter's Biography:

Antera is a certified Quantum Biofeedback Specialist and a wellness/spiritual counselor with offices in Ashland, Mt Shasta, and Redding. She had a career as a geophysicist/seismologist before heeding her other calling to spiritual and healing work. She has also studied metaphysics from an early age and is trained in many energy healing modalities. Because of her background in both science and metaphysics/healing, when she was introduced to the SCIO she knew immediately that it was a great fit for her, blending the two together perfectly.

Antera is also a spiritual teacher, author, singer-songwriter, and founder of the nonprofit Center for Soul Evolution in Mt Shasta, where she resides with her husband and twin flame, Omaran.

From 1989 to 2000, Lloydine devoted herself to communicating the message of the New Time of Peace based on thirteen perfect months of 28 Days. The result is that the message of Calendar Change has been transmitted fully worldwide.

Through the discovery and transmission of the Law of Time, the effect of one's perception of time through the unconscious lens of cultural Calendars and Clocks have been revealed in elegant detail, while demonstrating how the conscious adoption of a harmonious Galactic-based Calendar explodes one into multi-dimensional consciousness. Lloydine has been a facilitator, a leader, a catalyst for the transformation of consciousness in the New Time which avant-guard exponents intimately feel arriving today. You can too, by participating in this fulfilling seminar.

Through her skills as a dance performer and ceremonialist, Lloydine instrumented choreography of New Time Ceremonies in conjunction with presentations on the Discovery of the Law of Time and the World Thirteen Moon Calendar Change Peace Movement across many years. You may remember her as instrumental in forming the Planet Art Network in preparation for the Harmonic Convergence Peace Mediation of August 16-17, 2007.

During a two-year retreat on Mount Haleakala, Maui, Hawaii, 1989-91, Lloydine fully collaborated with Jose Arguelles in the creation of Dreamspell: The Journey of Timeship Earth 2013, a tool kit for navigating fourth-dimensional time. Using the Dreamspell codes experientially demonstrates the operational reality of 4th Dimensional Time on a day-to-day basis.

Come visit with a rare and original voice and discover the energy of this day in a greater Time.

Frank W. Dunlap
Slide-show and Lecture: Orbs, Faeries, and UFOs- The Paranormal in Your Backyard
Presented by Frank W. Dunlap

Cost: $5.00 - $10.00 donation appreciated, no one turned away!

Presentation Description:

Throughout time there have been reports and stories about floating balls of light, the wee ones, the nature divas, objects in the sky, and all other odd manner of visual manifestation. But despite our fascination with such things, it remains a very few of us who actually witness such phenomena, and so they remain beyond the veil, as part of the "unseen realms."

Or are they? With the advent and ease of new digital technologies more and more unexplainable phenomena are being captured on camera, virtually anywhere, anytime, and by anyone.

Join Frank for an amazing, thought provoking, and fun pre-Halloween slide-show and talk. While no one can give any definitive proofs as of yet about the nature of Orbs, Faeries, and UFOs, Frank has some incredible insights into the process and relationship developed in photographing them. Is the truth in the "proof" or is it in our experiences themselves?

Presenter's Biography:

Listing himself as Shaman/Chef on his tax returns, Frank W. Dunlap's life-long interest in that which lies beyond the veil was initiated in his teenage years by a series of dreams and out-of-body experiences that revealed to him two things: that there IS a veil, and a taste of what is on the other side of it. Perhaps in part because of his enduring focus on piercing the veil Frank began getting photographs of very unusual phenomena in January of 2006. His photography and experiences are a continuing process.

Frank has been a Shaman/Chef in Ashland for over 25 years, and currently resides in Talent, where the majority of his photos have been taken.

Lecture: Digital Dharma- A User's Guide to Expanding Consciousness
in the Infosphere
By Steven Vedro

$5.00 - 20.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome, no one turned away

Presentation Description:

There is an Infosphere, an electronic web produced by our multiple telecommunications technologies, pulsating all around us. These technologies, as many human inventions, can be viewed as a product of the creative collective mind and therefore encoded with core lessons of human evolution and transformation. Laptops, cell phones, PDAs, GPS locators, HDTV, and wireless Internet offer new ways of communicating with our inner selves and with others.

Techno-aficionado Steven Vedro says putting this newfound wisdom into spiritual practice as a collective society is our Digital Dharma, our path toward greater self-awareness and enlightenment. Practicing this path helps us recognize the impact of technology on our inner life and teaches us to overcome the challenges presented by modern media.

Vedro uses the seven chakras- the basic energy centers in the body that spiral upward along the spinal column used by many ancient yogic traditions to link our physical selves to the higher levels of consciousness and developmental stages of life - as a model for achieving Digital Dharma. Vedro further explains that practicing this new spiritual awareness, what he also terms "Yoga of Teleconsciousness," allows us to see both the universal light and shadow side of technology and then apply that knowledge to our communication with one another and to our own personal work of spiritual evolution and understanding.

Digital Dharma has something for everyone. It is for technology experts and yoga fanatics alike. Whether you are simply seeking the spiritual, already practice a spiritual tradition, or are a Body-Mind-Spirit reader with ambivalent feelings about your computer and cell phone, this presentation will guide you on the path toward a new consciousness. Similarly, media junkies, and technology "utopians" who understand at some level there is much yet to be learned from the Infosphere, will all find intriguing, useful material here. Vedro's model may be especially relevant to today's parents trying to understand the underlying meaning of their children's need to always be "plugged-in."

Presenter's Biography:

Steven R. Vedro, MA, AEH, is a writer, lecturer, and nationally recognized telecommunications consultant who has been at the interface of new telecommunications technology and public service for the last twenty years. In the 1980's he produced the nation's first television series on new consumer electronics for PBS, "The New Tech Times," which aired on over 200 TV stations. He also developed the nation's first statewide teletext service and directed the Telecommunications Division's Communications Development Lab.

More recently Vedro has advised numerous state and county government agencies, universities, and public broadcasting stations (PBS and CPB) in planning and managing distance learning networks and new technology initiatives. His technology articles have been published in Current Newspaper of Public Telecommunications and the Continuing Education Review.

Vedro's spiritual and personal transformation work includes 30 years of meditation practice. He is a graduate of the Hoffman Process and of the Inner Focus School of Soul Directed Advanced Energy Healing and leads an energy healing practice in Madison, WI. Vedro is a declared Elder in the Mankind Project and assists at New Warrior Training Adventure weekends. Articles based on this work have appeared in The Beacon (London), Edge News (Minneapolis), and Technos (Bloomington, IN).

He has presented this work at the Media Ecology Association (New York), the International Conference on Science and Consciousness (Albuquerque), and the Institute of Noetic Sciences' Media and Consciousness Conference (Santa Barbara, CA).
