Ashland Historic Railroad Museum Presents:
"Second Friday History Night Lecture Series"
Events every second Friday of each month.
$3.00-5.00 Suggested donation, everyone welcome
This Month:
Civil War History night with a Ken Burns flavor. David Gabriel will be reading the Colonel Silsby letters found in the Black Swan Inn in Ashland's Railroad District. These letters written from the Battlefield of Vicksburg are heart felt letters back home to his wife and children as the battle loomed around him. Nancy Spencer and Cyd Smith will be playing Civil War music on musical saw and guitar. SOU Professor of History, Jay Mullen, will provide some insights into Civil War History. Although there were no Civil War battles fought in Oregon, there were at least 60 Ashland men who served in the War and are buried in Ashland Cemetery, among these Colonel Silsby.
Ashland Historic Railroad Museum's Mission: "Bringing Ashland Railroad history, and Southern Oregon history alive! "
