Presentation Description:

Why the catchy title? Well, to spark your imagination, and because for me, Taoism is very earthy stuff - it is about how to live your deepest heart's desire with reckless abandon, trusting in Life to lead you to recognize your Beloved in all forms as you move through your daily activities, whatever they may be.

Heart (Hsing) in Chinese implies mind/heart/consciousness. If your heart is open, love will naturally flow in your life. On this evening we will explore together the Taoist "Virtues of the Heart". I have been very inspired by Chungliang Al Huang, my Taoist teacher, and his work "The Tao of Mentoring - the Art of Cultivating Relationships". The Virtues of the Heart are one section of the Tao of Mentoring. In looking at the Taoist virtues we discover how universal qualities such as self-acceptance, inner stillness, mindfulness and others, help us go beyond hardness or blockages of the heart and allow true bonding and connectedness.

This evening is an introduction to the 16 Virtues of the Heart within the Tao of Mentoring. On Saturday, March 5th, I will be holding an interactive workshop for those interested in delving deeper into this subject. Our First Nature

This mysterious life
is not to be explained nor understood.

With a child's eyes
before the word "problem" appeared

let us reclaim
our first nature -

the blessed one.

Video & Discussion: The End of Suburbia-
Oil Depletion and the Collapse of The American Dream

"We're literally stuck up a cul-de-sac in a cement SUV without a fill-up"
- James Howard Kunstler

All Tueday evening events at
RVML are FREE ADMISSION

Video Description:

Since World War II North Americans have invested much of their newfound wealth in suburbia. It has promised a sense of space, affordability, family life and upward mobility. As the population of suburban sprawl has exploded in the past 50 years, so too the suburban way of life has become embedded in the American consciousness.

Suburbia, and all it promises, has become the American Dream.

But as we enter the 21st century, serious questions are beginning to emerge about the sustainability of this way of life. With brutal honesty and a touch of irony, The End of Suburbia explores the American Way of Life and its prospects as the planet approaches a critical era, as global demand for fossil fuels begins to outstrip supply. World Oil Peak and the inevitable decline of fossil fuels are upon us now, some scientists and policy makers argue in this documentary.

The consequences of inaction in the face of this global crisis are enormous. What does Oil Peak mean for North America? As energy prices skyrocket in the coming years, how will the populations of suburbia react to the collapse of their dream? Are today's suburbs destined to become the slums of tomorrow? And what can be done NOW, individually and collectively, to avoid The End of Suburbia ?

Hosted by Barrie Zwicker. Featuring James Howard Kunstler, Peter Calthorpe, Michael Klare, Richard Heinberg, Matthew Simmons, Michael C. Ruppert, Julian Darley, Colin Campbell, Kenneth Deffeyes, Ali Samsam Bakhtiari and Steve Andrews. Directed by Gregory Greene. Produced by Barry Silverthorn.

Produced in 2004. 78 minutes

With Lea Adam

Admission: $20.00 at the door.

Note: Lea will also present a free inctoductory lecture on Tuesday 3/15/05. See: http://www.rvml.org/calendar/wc03152005.htm

Workshop Description:

Part 1: Healing Power of Past Life Regression Lecture

Past Life Regression assists in releasing blockages and old programming from previous incarnations. It returns parts and fragments of the soul that have been lost through trauma and ending karmic cycles. And it heals soul-mate relationships, karmic patterns, and negative emotions carried from previous incarnations.

Part 2: Guided Alpha State Meditation, Live Demonstration with Volunteer

Through the Regression the volunteer will remember his past lives, realize painful blockages and the source his of fears and angers. He will attain a deep understanding of his charka's balancing, his charka's conditions, and the source of their blockages. He will also see and contact spirit guides, angels, and loved ones from the other side. Afterwards, he will feel free and light, and will be able to accept and love himself unconditionally through forgiveness of self and others, and through acceptance of God's grace.

Part 3: Group Meditation

The meditation purpose is to become aware of soul choices throughout the incarnations and prior to life, to go and see the mother planet where you originally came from. Also, to visit other planets were you had lives and dimensions between lives, and to realize your masculine/feminine balance from all your incarnations.

The meditation will be while sitting or lying down, for your comfort you may bring pillows and/or blankets.

Andrew Tarr & Karen Kiester
Lecture: Natural Vision Improvement: Feldenkrais, Bates, and More!
By Andrew Tarr and Karen Kiester

All Tueday evening events at
RVML are FREE ADMISSION

Presentation Description:

Natural Vision Improvement: Feldenkrais, Bates, and More!

This experiential evening will present the work of two of the 20th centuries' greatest mind-body pioneers: that of William Bates, and Moshe Feldenkrais.

We will explore ingenious Feldenkrais Method movement lessons that will guide you to free the use of your eyes and movement. Our eyes are directly linked to our motor-nervous system. If you change your eyes, you change your posture, and vice-versa. Eyes are also a major focus of how we both see and inhabit our world. Working directly with the use of our eyes can profoundly affect how we experience life.

William H. Bates discovered that proper vision habits lead to improved eyesight. Based on his work, and the studies of Thomas R. Quackenbush, it is not exercises, but rather relearning natural, correct vision habits. Visual blur is your body's way of letting you know that your visual system is strained and its cry to be restored to balance.

Come learn about this exciting new approach which combines both methods, and
other life changes that can assist natural vision improvement.

Presenters' Biographies:

Andrew Tarr is a Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitioner since 1996 and is a cofounder of the Feldenkrais Studio of Ashland. He has been teaching both groups and individuals from all walks of life to move with more ease, strength and grace, and help them discover freedom from pain, injuries and limitations.

Contact Andrew at (541) 488-0000 or atarr333@earthlink.net

Karen Kiester is self-employed offering her over 20 years of technical skills to businesses. Her other "life" includes studying energy medicine for over 12 years and is a practicing Reiki Master. Her interest in returning to visual clarity began a few years ago, and she has studied with Thomas Quackenbush. She is a Certified Natural Vision Improvement Instructor and looks forward to sharing this powerful work with you and guiding you in your quest for clarity.

David La Chapelle
Lecture: Realms of the Heart- The Theory and Practice of True Intelligence
By David La Chapelle

All Tueday evening events at
RVML are FREE ADMISSION

Presentation Description:

Modern science has begun to authenticate what various mystics, saints and lovers of the absolute have proclaimed through the ages. The heart is in fact a mediating organ, both gross and subtle, between dimensions of being and fundamental ways of knowing.

In our evening together we will explore the latest science of the heart, as well as hear the evocation of the heart through the mystical poetry of some of the world's religious traditions. We will explore specific practices for relaxing into the heart's capacity as a portal of intrinsic connection.

Presenter's Biography:

David La Chapelle is a writer and practitioner of Raja Yoga. He has been a student of consciousness as an active process since childhood. His capacity to articulate subtle states of being is the vessel of his destiny through this lifetime. John Fire Lame Deer, a Lakota Medicine man, Swami Muktananda and the legacy of Ramana Maharshi have been instrumental in his journey.

David has written five books, his most recent book being "Navigating the Tides of Change". He teaches nationwide and is currently living in Ashland.
