Lecture: Creating the Cosmic Paradigm
By Mark Kimmel

Free admission, donations welcome

Presentation Description:

We are at the pivotal juncture in human history. The shift to a new reality will be more encompassing than anything that has ever happened before to Earth-humans.

Where we go from here is largely determined by you and the other people of this planet. We can continue in our mode of violence and self-destruction, or we can choose to embrace a higher way to live. Contact with extraplanetary beings is but the tip of the new reality iceberg.

Every resident of planet Earth should take careful note, and consider whether they wish to act in accordance with the Cosmic Paradigm:

1. There is much more than the physical reality we normally experience. We are here, on this planet, at this moment in time, by our own choice. We are here to actively participate in the transition of this planet.

2. The universe is teeming with life. There is one Creator and there are trillions of non-human life forms, some similar to us. Off-planet beings have been here for many thousands of years.

3. We are being invited to become a member of the cosmic family. To qualify, we must advance the state of this planet beyond its current condition.

4. We, the humans of this planet, are they only ones to make this happen. Our current leaders will not do it for us. Extraterrestrials will not do it for us.

5. The time is approaching when a shift in the experience of this planet will take place. It will happen quite soon. It will be more dramatic than imaginable.

Presenter's Biography:

Mark Kimmel shed his conservative business garb for a more relaxed outfit. What would cause this successful businessman to transform?

"I write and talk about a backward planet where the majority of people have not yet accepted that they are part of the cosmos."

Since 1987, Mark Kimmel has studied the messages provided by extraterrestrials. Utilizing disciplines learned during his business career, he avoids the sensational and fear riddled perspectives that plague many who get trapped in the alien, UFO, or ET phenomena. By focusing on the implications of extraterrestrial contact and the pending transformation of our planet, Mark presents an uplifting vision for the future of this world.

Years before he exited a successful venture capital career, Mark began investigating what he saw as a larger purpose to life. As soon as he abandoned the world of business, the awe-inspiring scope of the larger reality began to unfold. His exciting discoveries are presented in his talks and books. Mark has been listed in Who's Who since 1985. He has degrees in engineering, marketing, finance, and psychology.

Mark is married with two grown sons. He travels around North America meeting with individuals and groups who are interestd in learning more about the Cosmic Paradigm and putting its principles to work transforming the planet.

A word from Mark about his work: "My 'wake-up call' occurred in 1987. I then began investigating the paranormal; my search is still on-going. During this time, I have had the good fortune to find the right influences in my life, at the moment I needed their assistance and wisdom. I have been led to life-altering truths and learned from non-human life forms. And I have met incredible humans, people who are holding the light, people who are making a difference. Since I do not believe in coincidences, I can only assume that these meetings were designed to lead me to my current position as a writer and speaker.

"My current focus is on meeting with people who are interested in learning more about the Cosmic Paradigm and how they can be part of a planetary transformation. I call these 'gatherings' for a number of reasons. I also consult with those who have had contact experiences."

Lecture & Discussion:
Lecture & Discussion: "The Atomic Bombings and America's Soul"
With Martin LeFevre, International Columnist

Free admission, donations appreciated.

Description:

Sixty years after the destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, which killed 270,000 civilians, America is still in denial about these horrific events and their effects on our national psyche as the process of nuclearism, (the pursuit of infinite nuclear superiority despite the cost), continues with new fervor.

How much has the ongoing propaganda that "these awful weapons saved lives" contributed to the loss of soul so evident in America today?

You're invited to the Metaphysical Library and Event Center Saturday, August 7 to 9 pm. to come and listen, participate, and question together on the theme: "The Atomic Bombings and America's Soul". Join Martin Lefevre, international columnist, who will also speak at the opening and closing ceremony of the spiritual 72 hour commemoration vigil, in a facilitated authentic dialogue.

Since Hiroshima and Nagasaki, we all live under a nuclear cloud. In a chaotic, conflicted, and confused global society, we must find new modes of communication. The intent of these discussions is to create a respectful space and atmosphere where people can listen to each other and question together at a deeper level, to explore meaning and ask questions that strike a chord with those present. Dialogue is a process, not an end. LeFevre's process is based on the theory of dialogue developed by David Bohm (1917-1992), a colleague and friend of Einstein's who worked on refining the theory of quantum mechanics. In later years, Bohm encountered the writings of J. Krishnamurti. Struck by the way Krishnamurti's observations echoed his own investigations into quantum mechanics, Bohm sought out Krishnamurti. The two became close, participating in regular conversations and dialogues of inquiry over the years, creating a model. Further continued dialogue with Martin LeFever, if desired, will be held in Lithia Park, duri
ng the vigil. Times to be announced at the vigil.

----------

Martin LeFevre is an international columnist known for his contemplative, philosophical, and political work. His published work is read around the world, spanning the spectrum from the spiritual to the political, and he is a weekly columnist for "Scoop". He has been initiating dialogues since the first Gulf War with Africans, Europeans, Aotearoans (Maori an Pakeha New Zealanders), and others concerning the urgent need for a Global Polity of world citizens. Martin Lefevre participated in dialogues with late physicist-philosopher David Bohm. The columnist has initiated and facilitated authentic dialogues since early '80's, including in Eugene and Southern Oregon University in Ashland and is currently residing in Chico, Ca.

Lecture: Clearing Emotional Charge with NSR by Govert van Ginkel
By Govert van Ginkel

Free admission, donations welcome.

Presentation Description:

Neuro Stress Release, NSR, is the easiest way to find out what is blocking or sabotaging you at an emotional and thus physical and psychological level. Unresolved issues prevent us from being energized, discovering our core strength and being clear about ourselves and what we want. NSR, using the optic nerve to access the midbrain, offers a fast way to clear the blocking or sabotaging charge from the body and the brain setting you free to make new choices, be passionate and motivated about what you do. By becoming more conscious of the subconscious we can look at the irrational world more rationally, more openly, more relaxed.

NSR is a physical and conscious technique that allows you to release stress and charge from your mind in mere seconds. Using techniques from applied kinesiology and many other sources, NSR uncovers the body's wisdom at the physical, chemical, emotional and energetic levels. NSR is a method that you can use anywhere at any time to improve your clarity of thinking, to help you make better decisions, to let go of what doesn't serve you and to feel much happier with your life. With NSR there's no need to over analyze the issue or dredge up past hurtful memories. It's more like the delete button of your computer. It's a pain free technique that addresses emotional issues and by resolving these, it addresses health and well being. It is Natural, Safe and Reliable. NSR.

Learn how to do this yourself and if you wish, learn how to help others too. NSR is an easy and fun technique to learn and to use. During this evening Govert will talk about his experiences with NSR, show you what the body can do and how easy it is to clear charge. It will be a fun night just to be there!

Presenter's Biography:

Govert van Ginkel, born in The Netherlands (Europe), became a teacher/training and facilitator in Neuro Stress Release after having been convinced of its effectiveness. Govert practised law for 13 years and while doing so studied yoga, The Bowen Technique, Neuro Linguistic Programming, and Neuro Emotional Integration.

Eventually this brought him to study NSR in Australia. While clearing emotional issues with NSR, he noticed that his own physical symptoms such as a milk intolerance, a lifelong allergy to cats, jet lag and flues all went away. Making a career change NSR became his passion. He now practices and teaches NSR in Europe and the United States.

Lecture & Booksigning: Alternative Theories About the Life of Jesus Christ
By William Bramley

Suggested donation: $5.00

Presentation Description:

Jesus Goes to Hollywood: The Alternative Theories About Christ, is a fascinating and controversial exploration of the many alternative theories that have been expressed about the historical Christ over the centuries. Readers of The Da Vinci Code and everyone else who is interested in the hidden evidence about Jesus will find a wealth of informatoin in this extensively-researched reference work. Bramley takes a no-holds-barred approach that is certain to spark lively debate.

Presenter's Biography:

William Bramley holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology followed by a JD (law) degree. He is the author of the New Age bestseller The Gods of Eden: A New Look at Human History. Jesus Goes to Hollywood is his second book, and it discusses more than twenty alternative theories about Christ, each one exhaustively researched and documented.

"Many of the theories touch on very sensitive and controversial matters, Bramley notes, but that is unavoidable when you look squarely at the Bible and the religions that existed during Christ's era. I believe in putting all the cards on the table and letting the reader decide."

When asked if he believes all of the theories that he presents, Bramley replies, "No, not all. My mission with this book is not to convince the reader of anything, but to provide a reference book. The Da Vinci Code has created enormous interest in the alternative views about Christ, and Jesus Goes to Hollywood explores them in detail."

Bramley professes to be "spiritual but not religious" and has no formal religious affiliation. He says that his education reflects his lifelong interest in human society and its dynamics.

"I wrote Jesus Goes to Hollywood because religion has always been such an important force in society, for good and bad, and we certainly see that in today's world. Although I am not a Buddhist, I like its idea that it is important to see the world as it is without delusion. Separating fact from fiction in the realm of religion is not easy, but I think that is becoming more important that we try to do so. The consequences of ignorance are becoming too severe."

Poetry Reading: A New Twist on Old Tales; Two Artists, Two Takes

Free admission, donations appreciated.

Description:

Catie Faryl and Dan Verner are pleased to announce the opening of a new art show during the month of August at Nuwandart Gallery, 258 A Street. For many years the two artists/satirists have hoped to show artwork in the same venue. "A New Twist on Old Tales: Two Artists, Two Takes" is the title of the exhibition. Paintings, prints and assemblages will be used to explore familiar stories in some new and amusing ways. One thing both artists agree upon is that the "cutting edge" of art right now is having something intelligent to say and something intriguing to look at. Dan and Catie will be talking about their work on Ashland's new radio station KSKQ 94.9 FM and will offer an evening of music, entertainment and commentary on August 19th from 7:30 -9:30 pm at the gallery.

The opening reception for the art show will be from 5 until 8 pm on First Friday August 5th. Art work will be on display from August 2 through August 31 during regular gallery hours, weekdays from 2 to 6 pm and Saturdays from 10 am until 6 pm. To view the exhibit at other times please call 535-1854.

Lecture: Global Trends and Local Choices
By Jan Spencer & Ravi Logan

Free admission, donations appreciated.

Presentation Description:

The presentation is intended to give practical and programatic direction to a fundamental culture change. The premise is that our existing market based economic system and the consumer culture, its most notable product, has delivered to us intolerable degradation to the environment, the human spirit and the entire world community.

Global trends including climate change, affluence/militarism, peak oil, US pop culture invasion, population increases are all combining to create a level of social, political and economic instability that, with thought and care, could be made use of for a profound move towards a green New Culture. Ideals of Eco Humanism will be described as basic to guide a New Culture.

Derived from Permaculture principles, the presentation will describe thoughtful changes from one's self outwards to one's home, neighborhood, community, bio region and beyond. These changes relate to democratic decision making, personal accountability, economic conversion, education/communication, environmental restoration, urban land redesign and more.

The second part of the program will be a narrated slide show that will illustrate real life examples of good works representing the "zones" described above. These good works can serve to inspire others to adapt positive ideas and strategies towards a positive New Culture. Bits and peices of New Culture already exist such as progressive cultural initiatives, thoughtful urban redesign, Permaculture designs, green economics and more. What they need to grow is recognition, nurturing and replication.

Lecture: Connecting the Dots- Seeing the Hidden Threat to Human Freedom
By Catherine J. Larkin

Free admission, donations appreciated.

Presentation Description:

The evolution of our planet now requires a deeper and more comprehensive understanding from us. We need a context in which to actually see what is happening.
Our world is emerging into a Greater Community of intelligent life and is already being 'visited' by several alien races. This presents both tremendous challenges and a great opportunity. To realize the potential for good in this situation requires a growth toward a higher consciousness called "Knowledge".

Additionally we need wisdom about the Rules of Engagement. We run the risk of loosing the sovereignty of our home planet unless we are willing to learn about the evolutionary threshold in a realistic way.

Moved by a love for the Earth, for humanity, and for freedom; please open your minds and hearts to consider such topics as:

What is the hidden threat to our freedom?
(based on the Allies of Humanity report)

Does technological superiority equal spiritual development?

What is the role of the mental environment?

What help is available to us?

How is true Knowledge accessed?

What are the Rules of Engagement?

How does idealism leave us vulnerable to manipulation?

What role does spiritual practice play?

Many people are feeling a call to fulfill a purpose for which we took birth. Whatever our individual role may be, we need to understand the challenge we are faced with to see the way forward that is true. May we support one another in this endeavor.

Presenter's Biography:

Catherine J. Larkin, M.A., has been a student of the Steps to Knowledge program since 1990. She began as a social activist in the 1970's, and then turned to spiritual practice and psychological study as the means by which to help the world. Graduating from the
Institute of Creation Centered Spirituality in 1983, her quest for consciousness turned to numerous teachers and teachings, including Adi Da, holotropic breathwork, A. H. Almaas, Society for Ascention, Gangaji, Burt Hellinger, and others. She became a soul level healer through the Complete Self Attunement training, and this work has now evolved into planetary healing.

For the past 7 years Catherine has traveled extensively, including 18 months in the UK, where her ancestral ties reside and deepened her awareness of earth energies. Through all of this time, the essays of the Greater Community Way of Knowledge and the Steps to Knowledge have informed her understanding. After seeing the recent remake of the movie War of the Worlds, she was moved to reach out to the Ashland community to share a perspective of wisdom on this misreprented topic.

Note: RVML's library contains several copies of "Allies of Humanity" and many other books and videos by Marshal Summers.

Bernard von NotHaus
The Liberty Dollar- A Privately Issued Currency
By Bernard von NotHaus

Free admission, donations appreciated.

Presentation Description:

As Americans watch the purchasing power of their hard-earned money deteriorate, a new "inflation-proof" currency that preserves its purchasing power is already flourishing.
Money just ain't what it used to be. And according to Bernard von NotHaus, the Monetary Architect of the new Liberty Dollar currency, there is a good reason.

"When a government continues to issue money backed by debt, the purchasing power of that money inevitably declines." said von NotHaus. He noted that the U.S. Federal Reserve Note - the U.S. Dollar - has lost 98% of its purchasing power since the Federal Reserve was created in 1913. And government debt continues to climb.

Enter the Liberty Dollar: a private, legal currency 100% backed by real gold and silver with over $10 million in circulation among 100,000 people. Supporters say the currency emulates the FedEx® model that brought competition to the U.S. Post Office, which responded and improved noticeably. They want the same for their money.

With Federal Reserve Chairman Greenspan voicing recent concern about "the impact of enormous Federal debt on our fiscal future", von NotHaus commented from the Liberty Dollar's Office in Evansville, Indiana, "The need for a value-based currency is critical. The Liberty Dollar provides an innovative choice and offers needed stability and solid purchasing power to the families of this nation. Now Americans have a choice between debt-based depreciating currency or value-based currency available in metal, paper, and digital that holds its value and may appreciate."

Jason Pratt, who operates Liberty Dollar of Austin, Texas, agrees that while the Liberty Dollar is clearly the underdog, it is only going to become more popular as the government spends itself into oblivion. "The Liberty Dollar finally brings free enterprise to the creation of money by distributing it at a discount, so people can use it at a profit. Everyone can profit in the new Liberty Economy."

Featured in The Learning Channel's Making Money documentary, the Liberty Dollar is acknowledged by the U.S. Treasury as legal and legitimate. The Federal Reserve has adopted a "so be it" attitude toward the private currency, which is independently warehoused and audited monthly.

Dr. Richard H. Timberlake, Economics Professor Emeritus, points out, "Privately issued currency, such as the Liberty Dollar, is just as fundamentally economical and beneficial to society as the private production of any good or service in a competitive, free enterprise economy."

Presenter's Biography:

Bernard von NotHaus, one of the world's foremost experts on private currencies and alternative economics, retired six years ago after 25 years as the Mintmaster at the Royal Hawaiian Mint. His work has been cataloged over the past three decades in television, radio, and print medias and featured in Super Structures: Making Money on The Learning Channel, Paul Harvey's News & Comment, Forbes Magazine, the L.A. Times, and numerous books and publications.

Von NotHaus studied Art and Architecture at Kansas State University for six years. Since 1974, when he wrote, To Know Value - An Economic Research Paper, von NotHaus has studied economics and monetary history. In 1997 von NotHaus wrote Free Market Currency and proposed the world's first working model for an Organic Monetary Standard. In 1998, with the support of other concerned Americans, he introduced the Liberty Dollar to exemplify the principles of a free market, value-backed, private currency that is free from government control.

In 2003, he wrote The Liberty Dollar SOLUTION to the Federal Reserve, a 500-page treatise. He is well known in the numismatic community as an original thinker who relishes the type of complex problems he encountered while designing and developing the Liberty Dollar, a money owned by the people, not the Federal Reserve.

Currently he is the Monetary Architect at NORFED a non-profit, free enterprise corporation that to date has distributed $10 million Liberty Dollars to a network of over 100,000 people and postulates Bernard's Law: "When the people own the money they control the government. When the government owns the money, it controls the people."
