Lecture: Discard your Knowingness - The Teachings of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
By Tomas Qubeck

Free admission, donations welcome.

Presentation Description:

If you wake up in the morning and say "I don't know! I don't know who I am, I don't know what I am doing or why! I don't understand anything, really, and I don't know why I don't understand!" then you are blessed. Then life, in whatever form it appears before you, can reveal its secret to you. Because your soul is continually asking: Tell me your secret! Reveal to me your dark and soft mystery. I am ready now, Life, because I have dropped all my pretend-knowing, and now I am a living question, a yearning to meet you as you are beneath all the disguise and pretense, pure and direct. Not through the mind, but direct, straight to the heart. I am ripped open and empty, waiting for you only.

A man who called himself Nisargadatta, which means something like "he who is in his natural state", lived in Bombay, India until 1981. Talking with people who came from far places to hear him, he made such statements as: "Who" and "What" as such at the highest level, are nothing: whatever is, is very clear and obvious. But such a simple fact has turned into a riddle, because that principle has identified itself wrongly with a form, and then takes pride in that identification. It has accepted body as its identity.

You are invited to come to an evening of self-inquiry and reflection on the teachings of Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj.

"You knock at the door of reality, shake your thought-wings, loosen your shoulders, and open." -Rumi

Steps to Knowledge Study Group
With Ishara Larkin

Free admission, donations appreciated.

Description:

Note: This is an ongoing, follow-up discussion to Ishara's August 30th lecture titled: "Connecting the Dots- Seeing the Hidden Threat to Human Freedom". (See: http://www.rvml.org/calendar/wc08302005.htm)

Familiarity with the lecture or the subject matter is not required. Everyone is welcome to attend. The focus of this group is the study of "Steps to Knowledge", which is one component of Marshal Summer's various works about Greater Community Spitiruality.

Meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursdays of the month.

----

Steps to Knowldge provides a daily practice that prepares one to access the true inner guidance of Knowledge, ie., gnosis, or the knowing that arises from the innate intelligence of Being. This preparation is crucial as our world emerges into the Greater Community of Worlds. It is our best safeguard to discern truth and offset the hidden intervention from extra-terrestrial collectives that threatens our planetary freedom.

Steps to Knowledge by Marhsall Summers won the "Year 2000 Book of the Year" award for spirituality. This is the book of practices of the Greater Community.

The ongoing study group provides support for those actually engaging the daily practices. The meetings include meditation, readings, and sharing about one's own deepening awareness from the steps. However in the beginning it is possible to come and sense whether this great endeavor is a journey you're called to make.

-From the Greater Community Website:

STEPS TO KNOWLEDGE takes you on the great journey of discovering Self Knowledge, the mysterious source of your inner power and authority. Following Knowledge within leads you to the essential relationships that you will need to find and to fulfill your mission in life.

STEPS TO KNOWLEDGE provides the lessons and practices necessary for learning and living The Way of Knowledge. Presented in a self-study format, it contains 365 daily steps that teach you how to see, to know and to act with the certainty and the authority that the Creator has given you. It is the consummate study in Inner Knowing.

STEPS TO KNOWLEDGE is for people who are ready to undertake their greater work in life and who realize that they are here to make a contribution to the world at this critical turning point in our history. This book is here to serve them.

How you can begin the study in Steps to Knowledge today.

"To know what you must know, to see what you must see and to do what you must do, you must reach a greater vantage point in life. To reach this, you must take the journey, a journey of many steps. And the steps are in Steps to Knowledge."

Facilitator's Biography:

Ishara Larkin, M.A., has been a student of the Steps to Knowledge program since 1990. She began as a social activist in the 1970's, and then turned to spiritual practice and psychological study as the means by which to help the world. Graduating from the
Institute of Creation Centered Spirituality in 1983, her quest for consciousness turned to numerous teachers and teachings, including Adi Da, holotropic breathwork, A. H. Almaas, Society for Ascention, Gangaji, Burt Hellinger, and others. She became a soul level healer through the Complete Self Attunement training, and this work has now evolved into planetary healing.

For the past 7 years Ishara has traveled extensively, including 18 months in the UK, where her ancestral ties reside and deepened her awareness of earth energies. Through all of this time, the essays of the Greater Community Way of Knowledge and the Steps to Knowledge have informed her understanding. After seeing the recent remake of the movie War of the Worlds, she was moved to reach out to the Ashland community to share a perspective of wisdom on this misreprented topic.

Note: RVML's library contains several copies of "Steps to Knowledge" and many other books and videos by Marshal Summers.

Listen to Dr. Begich on KMED AM 1440 on Tuesday morning 10/04/05 8:00am

Presentation Description:

A lecture and multi-media presentation exploring the major technology issues facing this generation.

Manipulation of the mind, emotions and physical health of people through new applied technologies continues to draw the attention of military planners around the world. The most startling advances in this area of technology for both military and private sector uses are presented. The presentation will provide in-depth information, demonstrations, background and forecasts in the development of these areas.

Enhancing human performance or controlling human outcomes will be the challenge of the century, raising serious questions on the ethics of the science of mind control. Control of the human mind by external means is now a reality - how we use this technology is the next challenge for this generation.

Nick has been lecturing and conducting workshops in alternative health issues demonstrating a number of energy technologies to improve human performance. He is also discussing the impacts of our technologies on humankind and the planet in the 21st century.

This well researched lecture is intended to supplement the information developed for the Internet and printed in our published books, articles and essays. As an investigative reporter and educator, Dr. Nick Begich delivers a lucid and clear presentation on these topics while presenting thought provoking material intended to stimulate discussion and well reasoned debate.

The lecture concludes with solutions that could be initiated in the next few years that could change the implications of these technologies from negative to positive. This lecture carries a message about our humanity and our reach toward higher purposes. These new technologies attack the very essence of who we are - they attack the very foundation of our being by wounding the human spirit. This lecture is about both the issues surrounding new technology and sane solutions.

Presenter's Biography:

Dr. Nick Begich is the eldest son of the late United States Congressman from Alaska, Nick Begich Sr., and political activist Pegge Begich. He is well known in Alaska for his own political activities. He was twice elected President of both the Alaska Federation of Teachers and the Anchorage Council of Education. He has been pursuing independent research in the sciences and politics for most of his adult life. Begich received his doctorate in traditional medicine from The Open International University for Complementary Medicines in November 1994.

He co-authored with Jeane Manning the book "Angels Don't Play This HAARP; Advances in Tesla Technology". Begich has also authored "Earth Rising The Revolution: Toward a Thousand Years of Peace" and his latest book "Earth Rising II The Betrayal of Science, Society and the Soul" both with the late James Roderick. He is also the editor of Earthpulse Flashpoints, a new-science book series. Begich has published articles in science, politics and education and is a well known lecturer, having presented throughout the United States and in nineteen countries. He has been featured as a guest on thousands of radio broadcasts reporting on his research activities including new technologies, health and earth science related issues. He has also appeared on dozens of television documentaries and other programs throughout the world including BBC-TV, CBC-TV, TeleMundo, and others.

Open House: Magical Mystical Tour: Art, Angels and More!
By Bettina Madini

Free Admission

Presentation Description:

Please join us for a delightful journey into the world of color with Bettina's "Angel-Art" and other "Visions of the Unseen" as well as some other abstract creations of hers in watercolor and acrylic. This open house will give you a first hand opportunity to share the vivid imagination of an up and coming artist. From European roots to her transatlantic journey and her studies at the National Academy School of Fine Arts in New York City comes Bettina Madini to the beautiful Rogue Valley!

Bettina's artwork is sure to inspire the colors within you and create much joy for your eyes and your soul. Bettina has shown her work in Europe, New York City and the Midwest and now comes to California and Oregon on a West Coast Magical Mystical Tour.

Enough space in your mind and heart for wonderment, joy and miracles? If so, then let's get together!

Presenter's Biography:

Bettina Madini was born in Berlin, Germany, shortly after John F. Kennedy gave his famous speech declaring, " I am a Berliner". Berlin has not been the same since, for both reasons.

Bettina spent her years growing up in Germany and dabbled in modeling and acting, developing an interest in the fine arts. She then moved to Luxemburg, pursuing a career in one of the most important financial centers of Europe. However, this was not enough to keep her interested, as she found herself spending more time in nature, taking art classes at the "Ecole d'Art Contemporain" in Luxemburg and singing lessons at the Conservatory of Music of Luxemburg.

Bettina developed a nice collection of original watercolors and acrylics that eventually culminated in her 2001 world premiere showing at "Konschthaus beim Engel", a gallery in Luxemburg.

In 2003, Bettina jumped the big pond and landed in New York City, taking classes at the National Academy School of Fine Arts, where she has been further developing her artistic skills in painting and drawing. In addition, Bettina is also currently taking voice lessons with Barbara Stephani at the Hartland Conservatory of Music to further her artistic pursuits as a singer and vocalist. Bettina has also taken professional voice lessons with Miriam Arman in New York City.

Bettina is likewise a creator of wearable art and natural jewelry. She has created a name to umbrella all of her artistic pursuits, which is "Earth Angel Productions". To balance the intensity of being a world class artist, Bettina also has a home in rural Wisconsin, gleaming nature and the heavens for inspiration. She continues to create and at times her voice can be heard floating through the woods.

Ishara Larkin
Lecture: Spiritual Spin - Discerning Truth from Distortion
By Ishara Larkin

Free admission, donations appreciated.

Presentation Description:

As veterans of the spiritual circuit, we either laugh or cry at the confusing and contradictory array of teachings that abound. So many truths are spun in such a way that they distort rather than clarify. So many hopeful fantasies are offered in a 'feel good' genre that pacify rather than awaken. In this gathering, we'll bring discernment to the bewildering mish/mash of the spiritual smorgasbord.

Utilizing the pre/trans fallacy of Ken Wilbur, as well as common sense and hard won experience, we'll look at such topics as: the role of fear; Indigo children; seeing only Truth vs. seeing only good.

All of this could just be good fun, but in light of the Allies of Humanity report on the pacification program; the need for clarity is strong. Please come in the spirit of serving truth.

Lecture: Design From Nature- Perceiving Nature's Intelligence Through the Heart
By Andy Fischer

Free admission, donations welcome.

Presentation Description:

"It is only when we forget all of our learning that we begin to know. I do not get nearer by a hair's breadth to any natural object so long as I presume that I have an introduction to it from some learned man. To conceive of it with a total apprehension I must for the thousandth time approach it as something strange. If you would make acquaintance with the ferns you must forget your botany- You must be aware that nothing is what you have taken it to be. Your great success will be to simply perceive things as they are." -Henry David Thoreau

In the past, humans understood themselves as connected to the earth through the complex web of interrelating systems that we now just call Nature. For the past few hundred years human beings have begun separating themselves from the earth to such an extent that we have lost the connection to the fundamental knowledge and energy that sustains us on the planet.

In this experiential presentation Design From Nature, Andy Fischer will discuss the work that he is doing to harmonize the human realm with natural systems. His Work is based on reestablishing the pathways where Mother Nature is teaching us through direct connection to living within the actual non-linear flow of natural systems.

The presentation is based on his work in forests throughout the world over the past 15 years and the work of Henry David Thoreau, Masanobu Fukuoka, Luther Burbank, and Goethe. Andy will discuss topics such as: non-linear systems, self organizing systems, fractals, learning directly from nature, biomimicry, perfection in nature, plant communication, and natural systems design. The context for all of these interrelating topics is designing ecological based living systems otherwise known as Permaculture. One of the core principles of Permaculture is observation and interaction with nature. Expanding our abilities as designers to perceive more deeply what is actually happening in Nature will enable us to create beautiful, healthy and harmonious community living spaces.

A Discussion of the Heart-

The Heart is an organ of perception. Between 60 and 65 percent of the cells of the heart are neural cells. They are the same kind of cells as those found in the brain and they function exactly the same way. The heart is in fact directly wired to the central nervous system and brain interconnected with the amygdala, thalamus, hippocampus and cortex. These brain centers are primarily concerned with:

1. emotional memories and processing
2. sensory experience
3. memory, spatial relationships, extraction of meaning from the environment
4. problem solving, reasoning and learning

This understanding has enormous implications for us to understand how to escape from the mind centered knowing and limited way of perceiving the world. A discussion and demonstration of the importance of heart-based communication will be part of the evening's presentation.

Questions to be addressed in this presentation:

1) How do we communicate directly with a plant or an element in the natural world and begin to understand what is actually happening?

2) What is being called for to develop our senses to tune in to these subtle energies?

Presenter's Biography:

Andy Fischer has an MS in environmental studies from the University of Oregon. He has been a student in the natural world his entire life. For the past fifteen years Andy has traveled and worked throughout the world studying forest ecosystems including two trips to the Amazon rainforest.

A large part of his work has been with medicinal plants and he has worked with traditional healers in Mexico, Peru and Brazil learning about the native uses of plants. Using his knowledge of natural systems and ecology Andy has been teaching Permaculture Design and has a design business focusing on designing ecological landscapes for clients in the Rogue Valley.

Workshop: An Evening of Diksha and Forgiveness
With Solomon Faber

Cost is $10 to $15 (sliding scale)

INTRODUCTORY EVENING AND LECTURE

Come and receive an understanding and a taste of the power of the transference of divine energy through a process known as Diksha. We will do 1 or 2 Dikshas (depending on the amount of people who attend) and 2 to 3 active Forgiveness Dikshas. Read below for an explanation of the process of Diksha.

THE PROCESS OF DIKSHA . . . . THE JOURNEY TO GOD REALIZATION -
You are invited to receive diksha, the transmission of enlightenment energy that activates the flow of divine grace and presence. It is an intelligent flow of cosmic energy that restructures the physical brain, balancing the activity of the two hemispheres, and leads to the flowering of the heart. This in turn creates a shift in perception where the sense of a separate self is realized to be an illusion, and you realize your oneness with all creation, with God.

We have been taught to see enlightenment as the ultimate goal of our spiritual journey which can only happen after enormous struggle and lifetimes of spiritual practice. All this is no longer necessary, indeed it never was.

There are two avatars in India known as Kalki Bhagavan and Amma who are demonstrating that enlightenment is not something to be achieved through lifetimes of effort. Rather it is a shift in perception that can be permanently and irreversibly activated through a neuro-biological shift in our brains. It is a biological rather than a spiritual event, and can be experienced by anybody. Indeed, they maintain that Earth's golden age has now begun, and that everyone on Earth is destined to become enlightened by the year 2012 AD.

The process is initiated through what is known as the 'diksha'. This happens when someone who has received and integrated this energy and then been trained to transmit it, places their hands on your head, and activates the seed of divine intelligence in your crown chakra. Words cannot convey the power of this process, only experience can. Thousands of people worldwide have received this benediction, where personal effort is no longer required and the true divine perception of all things is fully experienced.

Solstices and equinoxes make up one sacred cross, anchoring us into the solar rhythm. The other cross is built from the quarters between each solstice and equinox. This cross "propels" the first cross, the Cardinal axis in astrological terms. Find out the astrology and mythology of these two crosses, and how they weave in and out of each other co-choreographing the rhythm of life. Then learn how to access these pivotal moments in time and space, and consciously co-choreograph your own personal destiny. Sarah will take us on a journey that is both incredibly simple, and exquisitely complex, presenting a model as old as human history with tools profoundly applicable to our modern age.

Insurers Pull the Plug on Mobile Industry
-Cellular Phone Health, August 2001

With the mobile industry in America facing massive lawsuits, the last thing they wanted to hear was one of their biggest insurers approaching the US courts seeking protection from having to pay out in the event of any successful action. The insurers are fearful the Cellular Phone Industry could face massive damages like those of the Tobacco and Asbestos industries as research fails to rule out links with diseases such as cancer.

California EMF Program To Issue Strongest Health Warning Yet
-Microwave News, July/August 2002

After spending more than $7 million over the last eight years, the California Department of Health Services (DHS) will soon issue the strongest warning to date on the potential health risks from exposure to power-frequency electromagnetic fields (EMFs).

Drs. Raymond Neutra, Vincent DelPizzo and Geraldine Lee, who wrote the report, conclude that they are inclined to believe that EMFs are a cause of childhood leukemia, adult brain cancer, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) and miscarriages.

Steps to Knowledge Study Group

Free admission, donations appreciated.

Description:

Note: This is an ongoing, follow-up discussion to Ishara Larkin's August 30th lecture titled: "Connecting the Dots- Seeing the Hidden Threat to Human Freedom".

Jaelle Dragomir
Lecture: Witch Hunts: A Continuing Death Sentence?
By Jaelle Dragomir

Free admission, donations welcome.

Presentation Description:

The witch hunts of the 1400s to the mid-1800s has, for the most part, been a psychologically unprocessed part of our history. The word "witch" conjures up burning at the stake. This horrible judgment and death sentence continues today as a continuing death of the self through silence, repression and denial of what we know and what we have to offer the world. Persecution, hysteria, shame, and abuse of power are all aspects of the hidden psychology of the witch hunts. Silence has prevented our healing from the witch hunts.

Jaelle Dragomir's research and more importantly, her intuition, informs the theory that the 400 years of the witch hunts have affected the psychology of women and men in many aspects of their lives and continues to keep them silenced, afraid to declare their intuitive healing powers. Additionally, the fear of retribution and mass hysteria that resides in our cells passed down from our ancestors has the potential to create illnesses such as breast cancer and Alzheimer's.

Join Jaelle for a lecture and discussion of the witch hunts and the ultimate healing of our fears.

Presenter's Biography:

Jaelle Dragomir currently teaches writing, speaking and spirituality and politics at Southern Oregon University. Prior to coming to Ashland in the summer of 2004, she was on staff for the Kucinich Presidential Campaign, organizing in Iowa, Wisconsin, Florida and Oregon. Before blazing the campaign trail, Jaelle taught Communication courses and worked for human rights in a variety of arenas, from documentaries to non-violent protest, across the US and in Nepal. Jaelle is a published writer and an award winning news broadcaster. Her poetry, nonfiction articles and humorous fiction stories have appeared in local, regional, national and international publications. Jaelle is a consultant for professors, U.N. diplomats and fellow writers.

Jaelle holds an MA in Speech from the University of Hawaii and has completed her course work towards a PhD. in Political Communication from the University of Washington. Her academic writing focuses on Spirituality, Politics and Interpersonal and Intercultural Communication.

Workshop: Introduction to Ceremonial Consciousness: Love and Fear
By Sean Simms

Dates: Thursday, Oct 27, Nov. 10th and 24th , 2005

Cost: $3 to $5 suggested donation to cover room cost and materials.

Presentation Description:

Ceremonial Consciousness is a grounded Earth-based way for us to meet in a loving circle that is centered between love and fear. It allows one to choose appropriate actions without being overwhelmed by emotions. Traveling around the spiral of the nautilus shell, it detoxifies our linear perceptions of the world and provides us with a place where we can feel brotherhood with all our relations.

Ceremonial Consciousness uses techniques that combine ancient ancestral teachings with modern transpersonal psychology and emotional processing. It allows one to access their genetic psychology by Descending Now to our Ancestors. (DNA)

Examples of Ceremonial Consciousness teachings: Judgmental thoughts come from the fear of intimacy, guilty feelings come from the fear that our love is too big and manipulation comes from our fear of feeling innocent.

We will examine and explore these issues by using guidance from our natural relatives and the environment around us. We will learn to let the sun answer our questions, that the ocean is not threatened by how much pleasure one feels and that fox kits tumble and play when all is well.

Classes meet the Second and Fourth Thursdays of the Month at RVML and are a combination of lecture and group interaction. November's 24th's topic will be Giving and Taking: Giving thanks to our ancestors and all our relations.

Presenter's Biography:

Sean Simms, B.A., has been an apprentice of the shaman, Makawa, the creator of Ceremonial Consciousness, for ten years. He has been a counselor in Juvenile Hall, taught energy healing and meditation and given psychic and tarot card readings since 1995. Makawa has asked him to share her teachings with the world.
