It is so easy to say that the meaning of our lives is to live it. But it is in our lives that we must find our meaning. What I am now is what I have to show as my purpose. Viktor E. Frankl wrote in his novel, Man’s Search for Meaning, “Having been is a kind of being and perhaps the surest kind.” The quote really grabbed me because it shows truth in all things. We can only be sure of how we acted, what we did, or how we felt. What we are, gives us free will and everyday we are faced with opportunities to find an answer to our lives, our meaning. I am a violinist and I am an artist, these are only two of the many opportunities I have faced, these are only two things that show the meaning of my life.

In every moment our meaning in life changes, and that is the beauty of life. I know that I have so much to offer, and it pains me to know that so many people, when asking themselves, “What is the purpose of my life?” can’t find an answer. My purpose is who I am today, and what I want in life. I am here to grow, to nurture, to learn, to follow, to heal, to teach, to hug, to feed, to guide, to smile, to kiss, to protect, to give, to love and so much more.
